(G)I-DLE will continue to work as a 5-member girl group after Soojin's departure.
"We would like to announce that our exclusive contract with artist Seo Soojin has ended."
Specifically, in mid-March, Shin Ae suddenly became a highly searched name in Korea because of her involvement in the school violence scandal of Soojin - a member of the famous group (G)I-DLE. It all started from posts denouncing this female idol's school violence on online forums.
Accordingly, Soojin and Seo Shin Ae were both born in 1998 and studied at Waw Middle School in Hwaseong city, Gyeonggi province, Korea. This post clearly states that Soojin bullied someone with the last name "Seo" and correctly mentioned the nickname of actress Seo Shin Ae.
After the management company Cube Entertainment responded to deny the accusation that Soojin had behaved inappropriately with her classmates, actress Seo Shin Ae posted an Instagram Story with somewhat hidden content. On a black background, Seo Shin Ae wrote the words: "Stop making your excuses." Although the actress did not specify her name or further details, there are many reasons for netizens and media to believe that these words are aimed at (G)I-DLE's Soojin.
In response to Shin Ae's insinuations, Soojin spoke up to deny violence against Seo Shin Ae. The female idol even accused the child star Gia Dinh Is Number 1 of posting a hidden post that caused netizens to misunderstand, asking for confrontation and clarification but received no response.
On the morning of March 26, Shin Ae officially spoke up, confirming that she had been mentally abused by Soojin by criticizing and disparaging her appearance. "That person constantly mentioned me with baseless insults, personal attacks and ridiculed me almost every day, such as: "I don't understand why she doesn't look pretty at all but is famous people?", "Anyway, they are the type of stars that are out of date", "No wonder why they look like weirdos", "I don't know what the teacher likes about this type, so they have to give it special treatment"... ", the actress wrote on Instagram.
Under this post, Korean netizens left many comments comforting, encouraging and defending Shin Ae. Besides, there are many people who express their anger and continuously ask Soojin to leave the group and retire. At that time, the female idol's management company had not commented on Shin Ae's accusations.
Recently, Soojin - former member of (G)I-DLE who left the group due to school violence - suddenly announced her return. Specifically, the female idol signed a management contract with BRD Entertainment as a solo artist and is preparing to release an album. On October 25, Soojin released a Black Forest dance video as the first step to promote and attract attention from netizens.
Soojin creates a highlight with her elegant appearance, showing off her choreography and attractive charisma like when she was at her peak. Originally a 4th generation female idol highly appreciated for her stable idol skills, the former (G)I-DLE member still developed her strengths after a period of hiding.
(G)I-DLE fans are still very regretful and have made many arguments to defend Soojin, but as time has passed, the public has not really forgiven the female idol. Regarding the solo comeback, Korean netizens reacted extremely harshly. Many people criticize Soojin for not being truly apologetic and are concerned about the idol industry when there are many bad examples. Soojin's album has not yet been released, but with the current reaction, it is difficult for the female idol to regain public sympathy.
