Fall in love with YouTube from sharing about slime - a tough, colorful toy. At first, Jenny was just going to return to a video showing people how to create different types of slimes that she learned from foreign videos. Unexpectedly, Jenny's videos were well received by everyone.
Jenny Huynh realized she could make a variety of slimes with different colors and scents thanks to easily available ingredients in the market. Therefore, Jenny consulted how to make slimes on YouTube, researched and created more to create her own slimes that are both beautiful, flexible and can be played for a long time.
The then 7th grader quickly turned it into a business with over 100 different types of slimes and sold them to her friends or slime lovers on social media.
Jenny Huynh's mother said that Jenny has the ability to be creative and soon forms a business mindset. That is fully supported by the family.
Studying at Saigon South International School, Jenny Huynh said, this is a great environment for herself to develop the things she is passionate about.
"The AP program at the school allows students to choose and focus on the subjects they love in addition to the required subjects. So anyone is not limited to the potential they can develop." .
From the 9th grade, Jenny and her friends began to rekindle the desire to study what major at university level. Soon getting acquainted with the business, Jenny is sure this is the path she wants to pursue.
Therefore, in mid-2020, when she switched to study at a high school in the US, Jenny chose subjects she had strengths such as Fine Arts, Macroeconomics... to have a better overview. . With strong subjects, Jenny got absolute A.
During her time in the US, Jenny also designed and printed models she drew herself. The 16-year-old girl then founded her own brand and sold her designed t-shirts on e-commerce platforms.
"Through that, I have to learn more skills in financial analysis and management by myself. Fortunately, I am the same age as the potential customer file, so I can easily grasp trends and build ideas. thought," Jenny said. This business is also maintained by Jenny Huynh to the present time.
Interested in business, Jenny Huynh decided to enroll in this industry at universities in the US. In the portfolio sent to the schools, I shared about the projects I have done and the journey I have gone through. All of that makes me a better version of myself.
"I used to be a girl who loved art, so I drew on paper clips and sold them to my classmates. This made me realize that I have a passion for business.
After that, I switched to selling slimes and got hooked on YouTube through videos that spread creativity. Up to now, I mainly share my daily life stories on YouTube with the desire to bring positive things to everyone."
In her college essay, Jenny also talks about her impact on the community.
Like her trip back to Vietnam last summer, Jenny Huynh used her platforms to call for support and raise funds for six children who had heart surgery.
In addition, with the ability to come up with ideas, Jenny also participates in supporting research projects of the non-profit organization ABC's for Global Health by professors from many universities around the world. In this project, the group has built a system of mobile medical clinics located in 13 regions of the Philippines.
The female student plays the role of marketing ideas, spreading health care information to the people here, thereby helping to control the medical health of more than 8,000 people. During the Covid-19 pandemic, they are also the only people to receive medical care in the community.
With all of that, Jenny put in the application and received approval letters from 8 US universities, including Stanford University - the school in the top 3 in the world.
While working on YouTube and maintaining a tight schedule at school, Jenny said, she must learn how to manage time effectively.
From the first videos posted on YouTube in January 2018, until now, Jenny Huynh has produced about 1,000 videos.
Jenny said, what she wants to share is to bring positive messages to everyone. However, becoming a "hot" YouTuber is not the career goal that Jenny is aiming for.
