Hai Tu's art photo series "The False Mirror", taken in 2018 by photographer Tuan Fr, suddenly caused a fever again on social networks. Few people know that behind the enchanting frames is an inspiring artistic journey.
Recently, the online community has been buzzing to dig up the art photo series The False Mirror made in 2018, with the presence of the "silent muse" Hai Tu. Although more than 6 years have passed, these ghostly frames have suddenly become a hot topic, spreading rapidly on social networking platforms.
However, behind those haunting photos, there is a name that deserves more mention: Tuan Fr â the talented photographer behind the lens, who has drawn dreams with unique visuals and emotions.
For many netizens, Tuan Fr may still be a strange name. However, in the creative world, especially art photography and fashion, he is a symbol not to be missed.
His real name is Le Tuan Anh, Tuan Fr has lived and studied in France for 7 years. Interestingly, he initially studied Economics, a field that did not seem to have anything to do with art. However, a fashion poster accidentally seen on the subway completely changed his life. "It was like a push. I see beauty and want to create beauty," Tuan Fr shared.
To pursue his passion, he had to face many financial difficulties. He studied and worked part-time, mainly working as a waitress at a restaurant. Seven years of hard work helped him survive and pursue his artistic path to the end. The sweet result is to graduate with a valedictorian majoring in Photography at the Paris Photographic Institute. After that, he decided to return to Vietnam and build his own bold career.
After returning to the country, Tuan Fr quickly became the Creative Director of Le Media, which provided images for leading magazines such as Harper's Bazaar or Elle. However, the important turning point came in 2015, when he founded Tuan.fr Studio. This is seen as a free land for non-commercial photography projects where beauty is not limited by advertising or brand contracts.
Tuan Fr's style is easily identified meticulously in the layout but full of emotion. Each photo is like a slice of inner life, not only beautiful but also profound. He is constantly exploring and experimenting through bold personal projects: his debut solo exhibition at Leica Boutique Saigon is inspired by the famous novel by Albert Camus, a series of photographs that are a visual journey about "death", leaving the stereotype to find the self. This is a project with a heavy philosophical breath and a bold personal artistic manifesto.
The recent sensational The False Mirror photo series is the clearest proof of Tuan Fr's vision ahead of his time. The cinematic shooting angle, the expression of the model like "shattered", the contrasting light all create an artistic creepy feeling.
Many viewers asked: "Is this a forecast for the media turbulence that Hai Tu will experience in the future?". A question that is not easy to answer, but surely the photo series has been revived with public opinion and become more prominent than ever.
Not only prominent in Vietnam, Tuan Fr is also trusted by Harper's Bazaar, Elle (German, French, Portuguese versions) and many large international brands. He is the first Vietnamese to become an ambassador of the Leica S/SL series, a brand associated with legendary photography names.
On his personal Instagram, although he did not "cause a storm" with ostentatious posts, Tuan Fr still has nearly 20,000 followers, including many artists and influencers. He shares his work, works, and sometimes simple and authentic corners of everyday life.
The return of The False Mirror is a clear demonstration that true art has always had timeless value. In a world where images can be forgotten in just a few hours, Tuan Fr's work suddenly "comes to life" after 6 years, stronger than ever.
