Listening to his parents, during the years of middle and high school, he no longer participated in the arts, but only focused on his studies.

As a student at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Ho Chi Minh City, Quoc Dai participated in the school's "Student Singing" contest and won the first prize. In 1998, Quoc Dai won the second prize of the Ho Chi Minh City Television Singing Contest and officially entered the path of professional singing. After the contest, Quoc Dai became a singer of the Light Music Center of Ho Chi Minh City.
