The Boeing 787, Air India flight number AI 171, crashed straight into a crowded residential area, killin.g at least 241 people, with only one survivor: passenger Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, 38 years old.
While authorities are still investigating the cause, the world's social networks suddenly named a movie released in 1981 - The Survivor because of a creepy coincidence.
The coincidence makes everyone shiver
The Survivor is a 1981 Australian psychological thriller film directed by David Hemmings. The film revolves around a tragic plane crash that kille.d about 300 people. The main character is David Keller (Robert Powell), who miraculously survived the incident, but the real haunting only begins afterwards.
He is surrounded by guilt, by unanswered questions: Why did he survive? Why him? He even begins to hallucinate, feeling terrifying supernatural phenomena happening around him. Survival accidentally becomes a curs.e and the whole film is David's journey to face himself, in a world between the boundaries of life - deat.h - sin - salvation.
Within hours of the news of Flight AI 171 spreading widely, the name The Survivor was suddenly mentioned again. Many people got goosebumps when they learned that the movie also revolved around a similar plane crash, especially with a similar number of deaths and only 1 survivor.
From screen to reality, worries for those left behind
If in the movie, David Keller survived and suffered lasting psychological trauma, was haunted and always lived in fear, then in real life, Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, the only passenger to survive the incident, is also in a similar psychological state.
According to Kumar himself, he was extremely panicked when he was injured but completely conscious after the incident: "When I woke up, there were dead bodies all around. I panicked, jumped up and ran. Plane debris was everywhere. Someone pulled me into an ambulance and brought me here." Currently, the fact that he was conscious made Ramesh even more unstable. He frantically searched for his relatives in vain (Ramesh was on the same flight as his brother).
Survivors of such tragedies often suffer from an invisible form of trauma: Survivor's Guilt - something that the character in The Survivor also suffered from. As a result, the global media is currently very concerned about Ramesh's situation and hopes that he will not suffer from long-term psychological trauma like in the movie.
Returning to the plane crash in India, the woman recounted the moment of her miraculous escape.
According to Hindustan Times, Bhoomi Chauhan planned to fly back to London (UK) alone on an Air India flight. She had just returned to India after 2 years of living with her husband in London.

Hearing that the plane that was supposed to carry her crashed shortly after takeoff, Bhoomi Chauhan was shaken and shocked. Bhoomi Chauhan said she did not expect that the delay in her flight would have narrowly saved her from a horrific incident.
"Just because I was 10 minutes late, I missed the plane. I don't know how to describe this, I'm grateful to God," she confided.
Besides, Bhoomi Chauhan's mood was also heavily affected by the news of the number of deaths.
