She told her mother: "I don't pursue art, I just play around from time to time." Since childhood, Meritorious Artist Thuy Lien has been exposed to television programs and loves the field of art. When she received news that the theater school was recruiting actors in the Cai Luong department, she invited a neighbor boy to try out. When receiving the results, the female guest faced opposition from her family. "My mother cried because she didn't like me being an actress," she said.

With her father's encouragement, Meritorious Artist Thuy Lien packed her bags and set out to fulfill her passion.
