Childhood is full of tears

People's Artist Le Thuy was born in 1948 in Vinh Long. Due to difficult circumstances, at the age of 10, Le Thuy had to follow her family to Saigon to make a living in a poor hamlet in District 4. In one time, a neighbor fell in love. Chess listened to Le Thuy sing and introduced her to study at a teacher. After a while, seeing that Le Thuy was bright and also because Le Thuy's family was too poor, he introduced Le Thuy to sing at the Golden Tram troupe in Bien Hoa to have money to support the family. On the stage of Tram Vang, Le Thuy was only suitable to play the role of a child double, and for the first time when Thuy sang the song "She sold paper flowers", she impressed the audience with her strange voice. That year, Le Thuy was only 13 years old.

From the success at Tram Vang, Le Thuy was invited to join the larger vocal troupe Kim Chung and for the first time, Le Thuy played the main role of the lead singer beside artist Thanh Hai. With the new play Became Charming, Le Thuy became a star in Saigon's Cai Luong village, invited to co-star with the famous male artist of that day, Minh Phung. Not only that, Le Thuy is also a favorite singer of the audience through old songs on radio waves. The audience said "Le Thuy is the singer with the most doubles because she used to sing with many famous Southern voices in the Cai Luong village such as Diep Lang, Minh Canh, Tan Tai, Minh Phung, Chi Tam, Thanh Duoc, Minh Vuong, Thanh Tuan, Trong Huu, Thanh Sang... along with hundreds of favorite old songs, Le Thuy is also always in the top of many awards such as Mai Vang, Television HTV Awards...

In February 1984, Le Thuy was honored to be invited to join a group of Cai Luong artists to tour Europe. This is the first big event after 1975, when a group of reformed artists including such names as Diep Lang, Bach Tuyet, Ngoc Giau, Minh Vuong, Bao Quoc, Thanh Duoc... joined in. The trip was a great success wherever it went, overseas Vietnamese audiences enthusiastically supported the group's plays. From that success, when returning home, the artists formed the 2.84 singing troupe and became the most popular singing troupe in those days with plays such as To Anh Nguyet, Life of Co Luu, Wedding Dress in front of the temple gate, White Flower. Mai, Life together, Lei Vu...

When Cai Luong went downhill, the 2.84 group dissolved, but Le Thuy was still a popular name. Along with Minh Vuong, Le Thuy is always chosen to participate when reformed shows are held. Le Thuy, together with Diep Lang and Minh Vuong, built the program Unfading Imprints to gather many artists to perform classic plays. Besides, she also opened the Golden Stage program to raise money and help poor artists. In 2012, Le Thuy was honored to receive the title of People's Artist for her contributions.

Besides a successful career, People's Artist Le Thuy has a warm family. The love story of the female artist and her husband also makes people admire. The current husband of People's Artist Le Thuy's real name is Duong Dinh Truc. He is also the first love full of memories of the female artist. Talking about the chance to meet her husband for the first time, People's Artist Le Thuy revealed that in 1971, she had an accident, so she had to stay at home to recuperate for nearly half a month. At this time, Duong Dinh Truc's family moved to an apartment nearby. Every afternoon, the two often go to the front of the house to sit and accidentally meet each other. At that time, the artist's sister-in-law introduced her brother, who was in his third year of university.

Perhaps from that moment, Duong Dinh Truc fell in love with the singer. It wasn't until more than a month later that he sent her the first letter. Talking about this cute letter, the female artist once shyly said: "He's very literary, calling me a neighbor girl. It was too funny after I read it, so I asked my friends to see it again. A seventh child. My friend suddenly discovered, saying that there was a man on the stairs of the apartment building looking at her all the time. Seeing that, I knew and asked two friends to write a letter to get acquainted. I read it over and over and then dared to send it. that thank you, hope to have the opportunity to get to know you."

With letters back and forth like that, the feelings of both of them for each other are growing. Despite being a famous actress with many admirers, People's Artist Le Thuy still chose that engineer. She once shared that she did not want to marry someone in the same industry. On the other hand, due to her early absence from school, the female artist was impressed by her husband's education level.

By 1972, the two decided to be together. At that time, they were opposed by their families because people were in the South and people in the Central region. However, despite these reasons, the female artist and her husband are still determined to cultivate happiness for the family together.

To date, she and her husband have 3 children together. At the age of over 73, the artist's husband still gives her the same thoughtful and gentle care as when she was in love.
