Singer Ngoc Lan is known as a music legend abroad. She owns a beautiful, beautiful beauty, flowing hair, a feminine, shy, gentle performance style with a soaring, clear, sweet voice.

Singer Trizzie Phuong Trinh is one of the few colleagues who have been close to Ngoc Lan, so she witnessed the most pitiful moments of her senior. She recounted on a recent livestream:

"In the last time, Ms. Ngoc Lan suffered from scleroderma. It is a rare disease that makes her eyes blurry, unable to control her body, and cannot be cured.

Because the audience still loved her, even though she was sick, she still tried to sing, but had to ask someone to help her up on stage because she couldn't see the way.

Of course, Ngoc Lan's voice at that time was no longer good because her illness made her unable to control her actions. Seeing Ngoc Lan at that time was very sad and pitiful.

My last memory with Ms. Ngoc Lan is meeting her at a music festival. After that, she also took a break and did not sing anymore until the day of her death. On the day of Ngoc Lan's funeral, I went back to Vietnam to stay with Bang Kieu, not in the US, I loved boys so I followed boys.

I just went backstage and saw that Ngoc Lan was already sitting there. I wholeheartedly exclaimed: "Sister, why are you wearing so much makeup?".

Her face was smudged, like a clown. Her lipstick spilled out, her eyes were patchy and slick.

Actually, Ngoc Lan and I only met when we were singing, not close friends. I'm a junior class, so I can't play with my sister. Besides, Ms. Ngoc Lan lives a secret life, does not exchange, contact with fellow artists, rarely gathers.

But when I see Ngoc Lan like that, I love her very much. I didn't know she was sick, couldn't see anything. Ngoc Lan just smiled sadly and said: "Because Ngoc Lan can't see the sugar, she can't make up".

I immediately sat down to wipe her face, then put on lipstick, eyeliner, and makeup so she could go on stage.

That night, when Ngoc Lan sang, everyone had to cry because they loved her. They have to take her up on stage, stand in one place and sing. After singing, someone helped her down.

The audience at that time didn't know she was sick because they only saw the splendor of an artist on stage, not knowing behind the scenes. At that time, there was no social network like now, so information did not spread. Ngoc Lan herself also hid, not wanting to let anyone know.

Although she did not know that Ngoc Lan was sick, when she sang, everyone realized that she was no longer the same as before.

She still knows the lyrics, but has no control over her voice. She sings out of tune, her voice is no longer humming, inspiring, very pitiful.

After that show, Ms. Ngoc Lan no longer appeared. The day she died, I was in Vietnam, so I couldn't attend her wedding. But I have a house near the cemetery, so I visit her grave every year."

Being teased by the audience

The late artist Chi Tai is also one of the few artists who have worked closely with Ngoc Lan, so he once confided:

"There is one more thing that I have only revealed until now. That is, there was a time when Ngoc Lan was so sick that she couldn't see the way to go out on stage, someone had to help her out.

I feel very sad for Ngoc Lan. When an artist is famous, many people admire, admire, and idolize, but when there is a problem, many things happen.

At that time, many spectators spoke very indiscriminately, stood under drinking and said very uncomfortable and teasing sentences. I stood at the piano for Ngoc Lan but felt very sorry.

After Ngoc Lan finished singing, it was I who stood up to help Ngoc Lan come in. I don't say it to give credit, but I really like such a talented artist. I just did it with that in mind, not trying to show off how gallant I am.
