Artist Luu Nga, also known as the biological mother of male singer Bang Kieu. Currently, although she has a happy and fulfilling life with her children, her life has also experienced many ups and downs.
Bang Kieu's biological mother is artist Luu Nga. She was a famous stage actress and Cheo artist in Hanoi in the 60s. Born into a family where no one was interested in art, artist Luu Nga had a biological father who sang amateurs and played the instrument very well. Good, and good at writing poetry, from a young age she inherited a passion for music, living in the sounds of ancient melodies.
Before coming to Cheo art, artist Luu Nga achieved many successes on the theater stage, winning the National Professional Performance Gold Medal. She has an elegant Hanoi voice, sings literature, mandarins and recites poetry very well, flexible in tone and warm in timbre.
Artist Luu Nga's most famous role is Tam in the play Tam Cam by author Luu Quang Thuan (Luu Quang Vu's father). Luu Quang Thuan is very satisfied with Luu Nga's way of working as well as his intelligent, artistic, and creative personality, even calling her "Miss Tam of the century". In addition to the role of Tam, artist Luu Nga is also famous for the role of Ngoc Han in the poetic play Ngoc Han Cong Chua, the role of Thi Kinh in the cheo play Quan Am Thi Kinh...
Although talented and beautiful, artist Luu Nga's life path is also difficult. She had a first husband and two stepchildren, but soon broke up and had to give up her passion for theater to work in a factory to raise her two children single-handedly.
After that, artist Luu Nga married doctor Bang Bui and gave birth to Bang Kieu and many other brothers. Because her family has many children, artist Luu Nga had to open a pho restaurant to sell. She said: "At the age of 7, Bang Kieu already knows how to cook, make food and help her mother with the business. Although I am an artist, my family has too many children. During the subsidy period, if I didn't trade, the whole family would starve, so I had to turn to selling food.
I went from being an actor who walked in shoes, bumped into chalk, got on a bus and got off a horse, and finally had to go to work. My children are too crowded, I can't do it. If I don't do it, my children will starve and give birth to malnutrition. That's why I have to do it."
A businessman takes care of the finances for the whole family with many mouths to feed, but artist Luu Nga always keeps the family orderly and orderly thanks to his own rules. At that time, the grandmother took care of the children who did not work and went to school, but if they worked, they had to pay for food. At home, the children work for a living and if they want to eat pho, they have to pay. Of course, she only took capital, not profit. If she sold 5 thousand, she would get 3 thousand from her children. Every week her children come home to eat and happily pay. That is the principle for artist Luu Nga to maintain family order.
She thought her life was peaceful with her new family, but the truth made her even more heartbroken. Mr. Nguyen Bang Bui at that time had 5 children, 2 children from his first wife, 3 children from his second wife. Due to evacuation, 3 children from his second wife returned to live in their hometown.
"After the evacuation, his children were in the countryside and then came to the city to meet their father. At first I thought it was Mr. Bui's nephew, because the children called him 'uncle'. When I asked the ladies from the country, they said he was his son. He, the second wife's 3 children, the eldest woman's 2 children. After hearing this, I cried without making a sound. I didn't know what to do, and I couldn't leave anymore because at that time I was already pregnant with Bang Kieu. It was very painful. But I had to swallow the bitterness and stay like that" - the female artist made the audience feel sad when she recounted.
Later, when her children were all grown up and successful, artist Luu Nga decided to live in America to look after the house for Bang Kieu's son.
She once confided to comedian Thuy Nga that, after becoming famous, Bang Kieu bought a 2,000 square meter villa in the US with a full garden, aquarium, and many types of ornamental plants and expensive carp. However, he often returns to Vietnam and performs everywhere, so he cannot take care of the house. Therefore, artist Luu Nga accepted to sacrifice, to take care of and take care of his son's house, and also to be close to his grandchildren.
Even though she is 83 years old, she is still active, energetic, healthy and alert thanks to doing everything herself, gardening every day. She confided: "I accepted to give up all my work, business, and friends to go to America to take care of the house for my child. That is also my blessing, so that my child can work in peace.
I take care of this garden all by myself, but I don't have the money to hire people. It's very difficult to hire people here. At night I'm alone here, no one is with me. I'm used to being alone so it's okay. During the day, the children often come to play."
Not only does she take care of her children, artist Luu Nga also regularly helps her colleagues and supports junior artists. Singer Hoang Hiep received shelter and support from her during the first days of coming to America to start a career. Later, he also expressed his gratitude to her and Bang Kieu.
That's why she is loved and respected by many artists. Even though he is 83 years old, artist Luu Nga is still often visited by his juniors, children and grandchildren and invited to meetings and games here and there. She also enthusiastically cooks and entertains everyone at the villa. There are many guests, usually 20 or 25 people.
