Love singing is like that, but during his high school years, Thanh almost did not compete in singing. Only once, in grade 12, with the trust of the school and teachers, Thanh participated in the Pink Age Melodies contest of the Education and Training Sector of Khanh Hoa province and then brought home the third prize in the end.

In 2017, Thanh passed the entrance exam to Ho Chi Minh City College of Culture and Arts, Faculty of Vocal Music, and officially entered the artistic path, being professionally trained according to his father's dream.

The joy just came, the family received a big event. Thanh's father has terminal lung cancer, which has spread to the brain. The first year provincial student, outside of class time, ran to the hospital to take care of his father for 3 months at Cho Ray hospital.

Father's death is a great loss for Thanh, especially when father and son are attached and harmonious. Thanh hid tears and pain in his heart to continue studying and following the artistic path that his late father was proud of.

In the second year of a student, Thanh has been a collaborator of Ho Chi Minh City Light Music Center in many big programs that this unit organizes. With beautiful choreography, Thanh is also a dancer for singers specializing in restaurants, weddings and events.

In one time, the restaurant lacked singers, Thanh asked to sing. And since then, in addition to the role of dancer, many wedding restaurants have started to book Thanh's show, even though it's meager - 250,000 VND to sing 3 songs. However, Thanh is happy to bring his lyrics to everyone.

Although the family is not too difficult, Thanh wants to be independent and help support the economic burden for his mother and siblings. Therefore, after school, after days of singing and dancing, Thanh also works as a wedding attendant, a clothing salesman in a fashion shop.

The year Thanh graduated from the College of Culture and Arts of Ho Chi Minh City was also the year when the Covid epidemic broke out. Thanh returned home with his family. After the epidemic ended, he returned to Saigon and continued with his profession of holding a microphone.

With wet feet and dry feet in the profession, Nam Thanh was sexually harassed at the studio, slandered by his seniors, won the show, but not because of that, Thanh was discouraged. Whenever facing difficulties, Thanh thinks of his father and takes that as his motivation to try every day, every day.

Nam Thanh confided: "I want to do my job properly according to my father's wishes before he died. My father wanted me to bring singing and singing to everyone. My father wanted me to be a real singer. And an example. Nam Thanh admits that he is a timid person, but every time he goes on stage, it is like becoming a different person, burning wholeheartedly with the audience.

Currently, I am still living in a rented house, but my income is quite stable, so I want to help those in need around me. I want to give. I often cook by myself and give it to the working poor. Once when I went to buy rice, I met a lady who was picking up garbage bags to get food. I gave her the bag of rice I just bought.
