The Vietnamese-Thai horror blockbuster Bride has revealed its haunting teaser for the first time. Thanh Vy and JJ Krissanapoom create a cross-cultural nightmare where dark rituals and family secrets make viewers shiver.
The first teaser of the Vietnamese-Thai horror film Ghost Bride has just been released and has quickly attracted the attention of the audience thanks to its gloomy atmosphere, fast-paced pace, and especially the impressive appearance of the first-time collaboration between Rima Thanh Vy and JJ Krissanapoom.
Taking on her first leading role in an international horror film, Thanh Vy plays Yen, a Vietnamese girl who travels to Thailand to meet her boyfriend Bankâs family (played by JJ Krissanapoom). What seems like a journey to prepare for a happy wedding in Chiang Mai , Yen soon falls into a series of strange experiences when she meets a mysterious spirit who constantly warns her about the dark secrets in Bankâs wealthy family.
The tense atmosphere was pushed to a climax when the teaser ended with a shocking scene. Yen was restrained, surrounded by her fiancéâs family members, forced to participate in a strange ritual of unknown purpose. The scene quickly spread on social networks, making viewers shiver because of its gloominess and suggestiveness.
JJ Krissanapoom, 29 years old, is no stranger to Asian horror movie lovers. He played the lead role in the series "Forbidden", the first Thai horror series on HBO Asia. With a handsome face and cold demeanor, JJ is expected to be an attractive "unknown" in Ghost Bride.
Interestingly, JJ and Thanh Vy had only met a few times before filming started. The couple took the opportunity to get to know each other on the first day of filming and were surprised to discover that they had many similarities in acting style and personality. That helped their romantic scenes become more natural and authentic, despite their different cultural backgrounds.
During the first days of filming in Vietnam, JJ received enthusiastic support from Thanh Vy, from location guidance to language support. The actor shared that he was very impressed with Ho Chi Minh City, especially the excitement and the blend of modernity and tradition. "I love exploring coffee shops, bars and especially love the street food here," JJ shared excitedly.
Director Lee Thongkham, who made a splash with The Handmaid's Secret (Netflix Thailand), said that choosing a Vietnamese actress for the lead role was intentional from the start. According to him, a foreign girl in a space with a strong Thai local color would create a sense of strangeness, alienation, and genuine fear, contributing to enhancing the film's spiritual horror element.
Chiang Mai â the main location of the mysterious scenes with dark jungles and ancient temples. Ho Chi Minh City also appeared in some early scenes, introducing the daily life of the character Yen before entering the "sweet hell" called the Bank family.
Born in 1995, 1m68 tall, Rima Thanh Vy was known in the modeling field before moving into acting. At the age of 15, she played the main role in Ly Hai's MV. In the following years, Thanh Vy persistently pursued art through supporting roles in films such as Hot boy noi re, 11 nui hy hop...

After her role as a female action star in Thanh Soi, and her bold comeback in the film Tam directed by Tran Huu Tan, Thanh Vy continued to assert herself with the leading role in Co Dau Ma, a film that marked an international turning point in her career.
Scheduled to premiere in Vietnam from August 15, followed by major markets such as Australia, New Zealand, the US, Canada and Thailand, Ghost Bride not only attracts with its thrilling script but also with the cultural exchange between Vietnamese and Thai cinema.
