While surfing social networks, seeing the post "recruiting child models" for fashion brands, Ms. X. actively contacted her children to participate. Although it is an old trick, besides Ms. X., there are many people who are still "trapped".
On August 8, the police of Di An city, Binh Duong province said that they had just received a scam report on social networks of a woman in the area.
Accordingly, in mid-July 2023, Ms. X. (resident of Di An ward) saw the post "recruiting child models" on the social media page Z*lo. Because she saw that the simple task received high commissions, and her children would have the opportunity to model for major fashion brands, Ms. X. actively contacted the recruiting party.
After a period of time being consulted and introduced by "experts", "directors", "assistants" how to participate, Ms. X. trusted and followed.
The group asked Ms. X. to do a number of things to complete the registration procedure, including ordering some orders with a small value.
When Ms. X. completed the order, she received a commission from several tens to several hundred thousand VND. Gradually, as the commission amount increased, she did not receive the money anymore.
Because she wanted to get back the money ordered, Ms. X. continued to transfer to the subjects several tens of millions to hundreds of millions of VND. When it came time to overwhelm her, Ms. X. woke up, realizing she had been tricked, but the subjects blocked all channels of communication with her.
According to the report, Ms. X. transferred to the subjects a total of 13 times with a total amount of more than 700 million VND.
The police of Di An city noted that currently, online fraud tactics are always transformed with many sophisticated forms. Subjects take advantage of greed, trust, lightness, gullibility... of the victim to lure into their tricks.
Recruiting high-paying child models, creating opportunities for children to develop their talents, confidence in communication ... Those are the winged advertisements of scammers on social networks.
Hitting that mentality, many subjects have set up pages pretending to be major fashion brands, running ads under the guise of recruiting high-paid child models to scam. When parents register to participate and transfer deposits, the subjects block messages, hug high money and run away.
These pages all run ads, have tens of thousands of followers, regularly post content to recruit child models "work from home" with attractive salary and bonus offers.
Attractive benefits are constantly offered such as: becoming an official child model of a famous fashion brand, fully funded for each shoot, supported with a basic salary of 3-10 million/month. In addition, parents are promised an additional percentage of commission according to the promoted product... With the prospect of their "tiny" children knowing how to make money and an open future for the whole family, these pages attract a lot of parents interested and participating. In particular, many sites impersonate major fashion brands to recruit child models.
The child model recruitment scam has been warned about by the press for a long time, but there are still many victims who fall into the trap. The main trick of the scammers is still through the social network F*cebook or Z*lo, the scam group will make friends and invite to apply for child models for fashion brands.
Their target audience is still mothers with young children, people who like to take pictures, love fashion. Hitting the psychology of mothers who both want their children to wear beautiful clothes, have beautiful pictures, have money, maybe be famous ... The subjects set up pages, run ads with tens of thousands of followers, constantly update images to promote product brands as well as child models on the page to create trust for parents.
After parents "bite", they will set up a group chat to invite them to participate in the challenge. If you do not participate, you will not be able to apply for a child model anymore. When asked by parents why photography is so taskable, the consultant immediately offered a series of attractive benefits such as to show attachment to the brand, if the child participates in the child model, it will have a big brand fulcrum, promote the brand development ...
The number of model job postings appears with constant frequency on a daily basis. It is not difficult for parents to fall into the trap of scammers. According to psychologists, with sophisticated psychological manipulation tricks, many more mothers will lose money in the near future if they are not vigilant.
