A miss was arrested for transporting 359kg of prohibited substances, worth more than 370 billion VND

Britain's Metro newspaper reported that Jade Callau - Miss Bolivia - was arrested after landing in a cornfield with banned substances worth nearly 12 million pounds on the plane.

Jade Callau and Carlos Costas Diaz, 42-year-old Brazilian pilots, were forced to land the Cessna 210 plane in a cornfield among the low-lying islands of the Parana Plain in northeastern Argentina. Nestor Roncaglia - Minister of Security of the province of Entre Rios - said that with the cooperation of the National Gendarmerie police, the Entre Ríos police searched the plane and found 352 packages of cocaine with a total weight of 359 kilograms.

"The Entre Ríos police have been notified of a plane landing in a field in the province of Islas del Ibicuy. A couple was traveling on the plane, they fled and were later arrested. They are a man from Brazil and a woman from Bolivia," said Nestor Roncaglia.

Mr. Roncaglia estimates that the goods are worth about 14 million euros, equivalent to about 11.75 million pounds (more than 370 billion VND). He added: "Everything indicates that the aircraft is coming from Bolivia and will fly about 1,500 kilometers. The final destination is not Entre Rios, as the aircraft made an emergency landing due to lack of fuel."

Entre Ríos Provincial Security Minister Nestor Roncaglia said police suspected Jade Callau was the daughter of a Bolivian drug lord and were investigating. The beauty is also believed to be related to Jorge Granier, who was arrested in March 2023 and faces a series of drug trafficking charges.

Speaking to the media, Jade Callau's mother said she was shocked to hear that her daughter had been arrested for transporting cocaine. She said she last spoke to her daughter on Jan. 20 and was unaware of her involvement in illegal transactions.

"The truth is that I found out about this through the news on TV and couldn't believe it. What I am sure of is that Jade is not involved in the drug trafficking ring. I don't know what happened, but maybe she was confused or deceived," she said.

Jade Callau, 21, was crowned Miss FexpoBorja 2019 in San Borja - a provincial city in northern Bolivia with 22,000 people. She has appeared on television several times, most recently in August.

The last time Jade was active on social media was 10 days ago. She shared a clip of herself dancing and applying makeup on her TikTok channel with more than 6,000 followers.

Bolivia is one of the countries that grows the most coca trees in the world, along with Peru and Colombia. Coke is a raw material plant for the preparation of prohibited substances. These plants are often exported to Colombia, which produces the world's largest amount of cocaine.
