In 2019, the case of a chicken delivery girl kidnapped in Dien Bien on the night of 30 Tet shocked the whole country. After 5 years, director Ham Tran decided to adapt it into a series of films Lost on the 30th Night, bringing different perspectives to the audience.
According to the introduction, the exclusive online drama Missing Night 30 is based on the true story of the case that shocked Vietnam in 2019. "Missing Night 30" not only focuses on the highlight of the missing case of the chicken delivery girl, but also aims to convey the message of family love in the first days of Giap Thin year.
7 episodes are told from the perspective of different characters to delve into the hidden corners of each person, to find the answer: "Why is this possible?", "Why do seemingly ordinary, simple people go to such crimes?" ...
In the drama, the role of the victim's mother will be portrayed by famous artist Kieu Trinh, and this character is considered one of the important elements, creating complexity for the story.
Director Ham Tran chose actor Kieu Trinh to play the lead role of the mother - Mrs. Hoa, a very complex and challenging role. This is a fierce mother, who often berries her husband and children and seems to be hiding some dark secret, but at the same time still has compassion for her child, desperately using the livestream to beg the online community to find a way to save her child.
Actress Kieu Trinh said that at first she did not think of her role as the main role, it took 28 days of filming and the psychology was very heavy. There were scenes where she cried continuously, filmed dozens of times, but each time she continued to cry because she couldn't escape.
"After the movie, I looked back at myself, controlling myself. In society, there are many people in the same situation as Ms. Hoa: she is the breadwinner of the family, loves her child but cannot control her emotions, always yelling at her child. I hope parents who watch the film will learn lessons to look back on themselves," she shared.
According to Ham Tran, "Missing Night 30" is a mysterious mental battle. Each episode will reveal a new perspective, exploring more deeply about the fate and gloomy, surprising secrets of each character. The film is inspired by a true case that once shocked the nation.
