Meritorious Artist Ngoc Dang was born in 1951 in Saigon. She followed in the footsteps of her parents, artists Tu Minh and Ngoc Xun, specializing in singing cai luong ancient tuong on the Phung Hao stage by People's Artist Phung Ha.
She followed her parents to live in the troupe from a young age, at the age of 13 she went on stage. At the age of 15, she became the main actor of Doan Thanh Binh - Kim Mai of the pregnant couple Bay Huynh - Ngoc Huong at Cau Muoi theater, Cau Ong Lanh (currently Huynh Long's ancient Cai luong troupe).
