Director Xuan Phuoc at the age of U60: Successful career but a bit cold family home

Director Xuan Phuoc has over 30 years of experience in art and entertainment activities.

The male director owns a "massive artistic fortune", owns a famous film studio in the South, but when talking about his family, he said: "My family home... is a bit cold" .

Ugly appearance but famous in the profession

Director Xuan Phuoc was born in the martial arts land of Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh but left his hometown when he was a child. His parents worked in the Military Region 5's Van Cong group.

Because of inheriting artistic genes from his parents, after graduating from high school, Xuan Phuoc entered the School of Dramatic Arts 2 (1984) in the same class as artist Minh Nhi, late director Tran Canh Don, and artist Minh. Phuong, Minh Hai...

Graduated in 1990, at the time when reform was in vogue, Xuan Phuoc studied theater directing, so he had no land to use martial arts.

"When I first graduated from college, I made movies but I didn't have my name on it, but let the producer name it. Until the movie "A Time Together" made for Ben Nghe Film Studio, I was officially named until later." , director Xuan Phuoc told in the program Where is Happiness.

Director Xuan Phuoc has a "modest" height and black skin. However, he has the charm to make jokes and make the person talking always feel interesting. Although there is no advantage in appearance, director Xuan Phuoc is very famous in the profession.

He is the owner of a large film studio in the South, gathering famous actors such as: Meritorious Artist Hoai Linh, Thanh Hang, Phuong Dung, Hoang Son, Le Be La, Phi Phung, Luong The Thanh, Thuy Diem, Thanh Duy, Kha Ly, Linh Ty, Bich Tram, Le Huynh...

He said: "I used to tell my students that it doesn't matter whether it's ugly or beautiful in the movie. I used to take myself and Minh Nhi as an example. Me and Minh Nhi are ugly but there are roles for bad people. ".

From the early days of hardship, after more than 30 years in the profession, director Xuan Phuoc has been a name that many people respect. He owns a huge legacy of works. He directed many movies, TV shows, reality TV shows and hundreds of reform projects, music videos.

In 2004, 2005, director Xuan Phuoc was awarded the Certificate of Merit by the Ministry of Culture and Information and the certificate of the National Best Director title and the Outstanding Individual Merit Certificate of the Vietnam Cinema Association.

Many film works of diverse genres and themes of director Xuan Phuoc have been honored with many different awards.

Among them are the Silver Medal of the National Television Film Festival for the work "Father and Son" (2006), "Wildflower" which was voted as one of the 10 best TV series in 2009, the award. The best drama series in 2011 for "Six-faced Rubik", the third prize at the National Television Film Festival for the film "Flowing Rice" (2012)...

Not only famous as a director, Xuan Phuoc is also a lecturer. Since graduating from the Department of Theater Directing at the School of Dramatic Art 2 in 1990, he has been retained as a lecturer by the school for 7 years. He is the homeroom teacher of Hoang Map class. At the same time, Minh Nhi was the class teacher of Viet Huong, Tiet Cuong, Hanh Thuy, Thuy Nga, Cao Minh Dat...

But because he was too expensive to show movies, he was often "invited to drink tea" by the management board. Xuan Phuoc decided to quit teaching to focus on filmmaking.

Some time later, the school invited him back to teach. Until now, he is still a visiting teacher at the School of Theater and Cinema, majoring in Performance Techniques in front of the camera.

In addition, Xuan Phuoc film studio, which he owns, also opens a class to teach actors. He said: "The studio's work is always there, too many old actors, the audience will be bored, so I train and find new human resources for the studio.

I give priority to young actors, but these days I have to "accompany", famous brothers and sisters accompanied by juniors. The big one leads the little one. The young people that I do not create the conditions to get new stars.

I always tell them, physique is 1 point, acting is 1 point, but the most important thing is work ethic. Must be passionate and enthusiastic about the profession. Most of my students are allowed to participate in the movies I make, as long as they meet the ethical requirements for work and can act. It's okay to be ethical, don't think you're beautiful and then I'll invite you to walk around."

Appreciate the wife at the endurance!

Director Xuan Phuoc is now at the age of U60. He is still enthusiastic and enthusiastic in many jobs: from making films to teaching and training the next generation for the country's cinema. Because of his passion and enthusiasm for the profession, Xuan Phuoc's time with his family is also limited.

He got married 25 years ago and has 2 children who are currently studying abroad. Sharing about his family home, he said: "My family's home is a bit cold because my two children go to school abroad. At home, it's just me and my wife, like two old monkeys looking at each other.

But on the contrary, I am happy because my children can follow the path they choose, their academic achievements are also good, so I am happy. For me, whatever I can do for my children, I feel happy."

He knows, behind his success today, there is always the effort of his wife behind, who takes care of the family, as a solid rear for him to fight.

"I appreciate my wife the most in her endurance. I do this profession, like many other artists, wandering on the street a lot. My wife stays at home to take care of the family and support me. She is very gentle, so I wandered off. everywhere without being disturbed. I can safely do my job, because doing a job requires sublimation and creativity, and I am not bound by that."

Happiness for a director at the age of U60 like Xuan Phuoc is not something big, but being able to do a job, his products are well received by the audience.
