The funeral of the late Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will be held on July 11 and 12, broadcaster NHK quoted information from Abe's office on July 9. The funeral will be held by his wife, Akie Abe, at a shrine in Tokyo.
Attendees will be limited to family members and some people close to Abe, NHK added.
According to Kyodo News, on the afternoon of July 9, incumbent Prime Minister Fumio Kishida visited the house of the late Prime Minister Abe.

The body of the late Prime Minister Abe was moved by car from Nara Medical University Hospital in Nara City (Nara Prefecture, western Japan) to his family's home in Tokyo at noon on July 9. Accompanying him was Mrs. Akie Abe.
Many Japanese people waited on the streets near his home to express their condolences.
Mr. Abe was assassinated with two gunshots to the chest and neck during a speech in Nara city on the afternoon of July 8, and died about five hours later from his injuries. The suspect who shot him was immediately arrested. The police are currently questioning the investigation.
The attack on the longest serving Prime Minister in Japanese history has shocked and saddened public opinion. TASS news agency on July 9 quoted Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov as saying that Russian President Vladimir Putin will not attend the funeral of the late Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
"Putin did not participate. [Whether] other officials [participate or not] depend on the rules of protocol," Peskov said when asked if senior Russian officials attended his funeral. Abe or not.
Earlier, Mr. Peskov told reporters that the Kremlin deeply mourns the passing of the late Japanese prime minister and expresses condolences to the people of this country.
On July 9, according to the New York Post, former US President Donald Trump is discussing with the family of the late Prime Minister Abe about attending his funeral.
Mr Trump, who has a close relationship with Mr Abe, said he was looking at the logistics of attending and reiterated Mr Abe was the first world leader he had met as president.
Mr. Trump told Breitbart News: "We'll see how it goes. "We're talking to their families. We love family. His wife is an extraordinary woman. He is so much loved in Japan, I can imagine it will be a special memorial. He is very special. Every aspect of that man is very special."
Mr Trump added that Mr Abe had come to the US shortly after the 2016 election and said they had "a special relationship".
Mr Trump called Mr Abe's sudden departure "bad news for the world".
Previously, when receiving news of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's death on July 8, 2022, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on behalf of the leaders of the Party, State and people of Vietnam sent condolences to the President.
