The news that Jay Park was involved in drug trafficking and had ties to a notorious gang has shocked public opinion in recent hours. In the midst of the scandal, the male singer has made his first move.
On the morning of February 26, Allkpop reported that a YouTuber named Ppuring Office suddenly accused showbiz president and famous singer Jay Park (former member of 2PM) of being involved in drug smuggling, illegal cryptocurrency transactions, and even having ties to a notorious gang.
According to YouTuber, Jay Park knows rapper Koala and has appeared in the same frame. Koala has a close relationship with "Kpop big sister" Jessi - an artist who used to be under the company of the former 2PM member. It is worth mentioning that Ppuring Office accused Koala of being a member of a gang and supplying illegal substances to the hip hop community in Korea.
The YouTuber added that both Jay Park and Jessi performed at the Rolling Loud OKX event in Thailand in 2023. Notably, OKX is a cryptocurrency exchange. From here, Ppuring Office raised suspicions that Jay Park was involved in illegal cryptocurrency trading activities.
In a video, a YouTuber strongly attacked Jay Park despite not having any concrete evidence. "Who the hell is Jay Park, why can't we talk about the things we see?", this person said.
In addition, he also frankly criticized: "A video exposing the lives of Korean-American artists is about to be released. Prepare to be angry, guys. Making money in Korea and then calmly leaving when things go wrong - that's the nature of Korean-American artists. They only see Korea as a playground to make money, not a place to settle down."
In the face of a series of accusations against him, Jay Park has strongly denied them, and the former 2PM member has also announced legal action against the YouTuber who spread false rumors, causing serious damage to the singer's reputation.
According to Allkpop, Jay Park has filed a lawsuit against YouTuber Ppuring Office at the Seoul Central District Court for defamation and spreading false information. In addition, the singer born in 1987 also requested the US court to verify and notify the specific identity of this YouTuber.
In a statement to the court, Jay Park's side said: "From October 17, 2024 to October 31, 2024, a YouTube user named Ppuring Office posted two videos, two articles, along with several comments about Jay Park." According to the former 2PM member, Ppuring Office is a destructive channel, spreading malicious and false accusations. Among them, there are accusations that the male singer is involved in a drug smuggling ring, illegal cryptocurrency transactions, and has ties to gangs.
As for Jessi, she was also named in this shocking scandal but has yet to respond. On February 23, the female rapper had an explosive performance at WATERBOMB Manila 2025, marking her return after a period away from the spotlight. This comeback immediately shocked the fan community and aroused anticipation for her next musical products.
Jessi has been out of the public eye for a while after an unfortunate incident in October 2024. At that time, a report claimed that an 18-year-old fan was attacked at a private gathering the rapper attended. Initially, she faced a wave of criticism, but when CCTV footage was released, things turned around.
The video proves that the "Kpop big sister" did not commit any violent acts, but on the contrary, she intervened to stop a fight. Although she was cleared, the incident still seriously affected the career and image of the star born in 1988, making her return to the stage more important than ever.
