Talking about the fate that brought me to the movie "Forest of the World", Huynh Thanh Truc said:

"One fine day, I received a phone call from the producer, inviting me to meet the director of the film, but not for casting, but to talk. Me and the actors were cast for physical fitness, not for casting. acting.

I talked to the director and was invited to go on a trip, climb a waterfall to see how much endurance. Initially, it was a waterfall climbing trip in Da Lat, then a backpacking trip on Ta Nang Phan Dung - the most beautiful road in Vietnam.

The director's purpose is to see how physically fit the actor is and see if our real personality matches the character. After the trip, I got the lead role of the movie.

When I received this opportunity, I was very happy because before that, I had about 1 year to stop with art to gain more experience, which is my life. Because before that, people knew me as a comedian on game shows more. Because I didn't want to repeat myself before, I stopped."

In that 1 year, although he struggled economically, in return, Huynh Thanh Truc learned a lot and exploited more "keywords" in his person. Especially after participating in the project "Forest of the World". I said:

"After completing the role of Kien in "Forest of the World", Kien taught me a lot of things about life. For example, I know to cherish all the relationships that come to me for this life, find a friend. It's really hard, especially when I'm not a social person.

After returning from the movie, I reconnected with Tran Phong (who played the role of Dung in Mat Biec - PV). Before that, Tran Phong and I were close friends, but because of small disagreements and youthful extravagance, I caused that friendship to crack. The two of us were mad at each other, there was a time when we didn't see each other's faces. After the movie came back, I cherished that sentiment very much.

Kien taught me a different way of looking at life. When we open up to someone, that person naturally opens up to us. Moreover, through "Forest of the World", I changed. Before, I was wild and impulsive, but now, I feel more mature."

Obsessed with having to eat 3 frogs alive

Before that, the crew held a press conference in Ho Chi Minh City, introduced the actors and teased the work. The clip of more than a minute focuses on the main character Kien (played by Huynh Thanh Truc) - a backpacker lost in the group, stuck in the forest in Ta Nang - Phan Dung (in the three provinces of Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan). He must find a way to survive and return to the civilized world, while injured in the leg. Kien gets water from moss and weeds and eats a live frog.

Sharing about this, Huynh Thanh Truc recalled:

"Each scene gives me a different fear, but the part that most pressures and haunts me is the scene of eating the frog alive. Maybe many people have bad thoughts about this scene, but I hope everyone will understand. for the character Kien when he was lost in the forest for many days and was very hungry.

Before filming this segment, I kept apologizing... those frogs. To do this segment, I had to eat 3 frogs. Eating the first child, I was appalled. By the second child, the fear subsided. By the third child, I feel completely Kien. Kien is hungry, Kien needs to eat to survive, but the feeling of nausea cannot be avoided.

But I find that sacrifice well worth it because when I see myself on the big screen, I no longer see Huynh Thanh Truc but only a very strong Kien to overcome adversity."

I almost got depressed because I was so immersed in the role

During the 36 days of filming the work, because he acted too well, sometimes Huynh Thanh Truc injured himself. The guy revealed:

"I had a lot of wounds on my face at that time, one of which was real. I was very open to this character, so I often acted too much. I forgot that I was Huynh Thanh Truc, thinking I was the real Kien. So I fell out of the comfort zone that everyone had prepared for me and got hit in the face by a tree.

But it's okay, I already have a lot of wounds on my face, so having more is normal and more real."

Talking about the character Kien, Huynh Thanh Truc considers himself 60 to 70% like him in real life:

"Kien is a bad person. In real life, me too. I'm not an easy person, although I've changed a lot now. During the filming, I found myself and Kien close for about 60 to 60 years. 70% but, there are also many things in Kien, which I have not experienced.

So, in the process of reading the script, playing the role, I isolated myself, did not contact friends and relatives, got used to having no phone signal when in the forest. About 4 months like that. I also trained my personality, thinking for the most similar to the character, which are the requirements that the director made.

I feel very interesting because I get to live with that character. In 4 months without talking to anyone, I feel like I'm depressed."
