HOT: Thanh Thuy crowned Miss International 2024, making history of Vietnamese beauty

Miss Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy officially brought Vietnam to the title of Miss International 2024, making history for the country's beauty by becoming the first person to win the crown at the world's third largest pageant.

On the evening of November 12, the final night of the Miss International 2024 contest officially took place in Japan, more than 70 contestants from all over the world went through the competitions, finding from the top 20, to the top 8 and the runner-up titles, and finally the highest position of Miss. This year's representative of Vietnam is Miss Vietnam 2022 - Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy, this beauty born in 2002, throughout the competition, she was always in the top of the most outstanding and impressive contestants.

At the end of the final night, the highest position was officially called Vietnam, Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy made beauty fans burst into happiness, shaking social networks when she was also the first Vietnamese person to be crowned in the world's third largest beauty arena, opening a new era for the history of Vietnamese beauty.

Thanh Thuy's victory was considered extremely convincing, with nothing to argue about. The titles of 1st Runner-up to 4th Runner-up were awarded to the representatives of Bolivia, Spain, Venezuela and Indonesia, respectively.

Previously, in the top 8 behavioral round, Thanh Thuy received the question: "What typical development event globally has influenced the change in the education system in your generation?", Miss Thanh Thuy gave the answer: "In my opinion, the Covid-19 pandemic has brought a strong transformation to the global education system. Because of the pandemic, we are forced to stay at home and study online through screens, an unprecedented change.

Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy was born in 2002, from Da Nang, 1.76 m tall. Before being crowned Miss Vietnam 2022, she won the title of Miss University of Foreign Languages under Da Nang University, 1st runner-up of the Da Nang City Elegant Students Contest in 2021. Thanh Thuy is currently studying at two schools: University of Foreign Languages (Da Nang University), Greenwich University Vietnam. Recently, she has attended many events, fashion shows, talked with university students, and carried out a series of community-oriented activities.

Coming to the international arena, the new Miss International brought 150 kg of luggage, arrived in Japan on October 29, participated in cultural experiences, and interacted with contestants. In recent days, she has scored points with her elegant and feminine style. She actively interacted and connected with contestants. On November 9, the beauty website Missosology voted Miss Thanh Thuy as one of the 10 contestants with the most attractive swimsuit photos. In the semi-finals on November 10, the beauty was praised for her beauty and fluent English speaking skills.

In the final night, Thanh Thuy and 75 other contestants went through many performances. The most impressive of which was the National Costume ensemble, where she wore the Lotus Silk - a costume inspired by traditional weaving. The design was made by Bui Cong Thien Bao, consisting mainly of a silk ao dai, woven from silk threads extracted from lotus stems.

Miss International is one of the three major beauty pageants in the world, along with Miss World and Miss Universe. It was first held in 1960 and is held annually in Japan. The 62nd edition of the pageant took place on November 12 in Tokyo. Andrea Rubio, from Venezuela, crowned the new Miss Universe, Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy of Vietnam.
