Among those documents, Hong Nhung was shown child custody extracts and documents about Hong Wan's identity. However, Phu Nhuan District People's Committee announced that adoption records are no longer stored in the district, so they cannot be provided at the request of the court.

However, based on the adoption book, the People's Committee of Phu Nhuan district confirmed that Hong Loan is the adopted son of Vu Linh. Ms. Hong Nhung shared: "This has vindicated our family during the past time when many people believe that we deliberately deny Hong Loan is our brother's biological son. It is known that Ms. Vo Thi Hong Nhung has filed a lawsuit against Hong Loan asking the court to cancel the written declaration of inheritance of the late NS Vu Linh made by the defendant Vo Thi Hong Loan on April 7, 2023 at the Notary Public Office of Huynh Thi Ngoc Yen (Binh Thanh district, HCMC HCM).

The inheritances transferred to the defendant include: Housing and land use rights at 5 Doan Thi Diem (Ward 1, Phu Nhuan District) according to the land use right certificate issued by the People's Committee of Phu Nhuan District on January 23, 2015; Land use right with land parcel No. 87, 88 and map No. 8 in Linh Dong ward, Thu Duc city according to the land use right certificate issued by Thu Duc District People's Committee on 19/12/1998 and a car.

In addition, Ms. Hong Nhung asked for half of the property after deducting the value that Vu Linh made an oral will for Hong Phuong (Vu Linh's niece). It is estimated that the value that Ms. Hong Nhung claims to enjoy is VND 1.5 billion.

Many controversies erupted around Hong Wan's identity as the biological or adopted son of the late NS Vu Linh. However, in this regard absolutely does not affect the right to inherit property. According to experts in the legal profession, adopted children are still legally entitled to inheritance like biological children.

Specifically, article 24 of the Law on Adoption 2010, if parents have registered for legal adoption, the family and this adopted child have full rights and obligations towards the parents. In case the deceased parents do not make a legal will, the estate will still be divided according to the provisions of law in Articles 650 and 651 of the Civil Code 2015.
