Singer Jack âs company J97 Entertainment was named by the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department as one of the businesses that have not yet paid their taxes. In addition to Jackâs company, there are more than 1,800 related businesses and individuals.
The Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department has just published a list of 1,890 individuals and businesses with tax debts totaling more than VND2,400 billion as of the end of August 2025. The list spans across real estate, securities, commerce and entertainment, attracting great public attention. Among them, J97 Entertainment - a company invested by singer Jack (Trinh Tran Phuong Tuan) - is also in tax debt.
In the published list, a series of companies operating in the entertainment, media and service industries were also "named". Notably, J97 Entertainment Company Limited - the enterprise associated with the name of singer Jack is in debt of nearly 547 million VND.
According to the records, J97 Entertainment was established in June 2020 with a charter capital of 5 billion VND. The capital contribution structure includes Mr. Trinh Tran Phuong Tuan (Jack) holding 20% and his mother, Ms. Tran Thi Cam Loan, contributing 80%, concurrently holding the position of Director and legal representative.
In addition to J97 Entertainment, a number of other entertainment businesses were also announced on the list, including Doan Viet Advertising and Media Equipment Company (debt of 23.6 billion VND), Zeus Massage Service Company (debt of 8.8 billion VND), IPMM Entertainment Media Company (debt of 4.8 billion VND) and Tram An Entertainment Company Limited (debt of more than 240 million VND).
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department, the tax debt of 1,890 individuals and businesses is up to more than VND2,400 billion. The publication of this list is based on the Tax Administration Law No. 38/2019 and Decree 126/2020 of the Government, applicable to cases of late payment of tax obligations of more than 90 days.
This move is expected to create pressure for organizations and individuals to soon fulfill their obligations to pay the state budget, avoiding the situation of prolonged tax debt causing revenue loss. This is also a measure to increase transparency and enhance the responsibility of businesses in complying with financial laws.
In fact, the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department has published the list of tax-debt-ridden businesses many times this year. In July 2025, the Tax Department also announced 195 businesses with debts of more than VND1,186 billion.
In the entertainment industry, not only Jack's J97 Entertainment was mentioned, before that, singer Son Tung's company M-TP Entertainment was also involved in tax issues. This caused the male singer's image to be in trouble for a long time. However, after speaking up to correct the situation, everything was resolved.
Specifically, the tax authority has applied enforcement measures of nearly 120 million VND to M-TP Entertainment. However, the company's representative affirmed that this was just a technical problem in the tax management system. The company said that the tax obligation was performed in both Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City, but the system had not automatically offset, leading to the difference.
"This is not an actual tax debt. The company has fully performed its obligations according to the law," the representative of M-TP Entertainment emphasized.
The fact that entertainment businesses are mentioned in the tax debt list has attracted special public attention. The reason is that they have great influence in the community, their image is closely associated with the public, so any financial problem easily becomes the center of attention.
