In recent days, the image of the first police Corgi dog in China has caused a stir on forums. Not as tall as other professional dogs, but its short legs and innocent smile have captured the hearts of netizens.
Fu Zi, the first police Corgi dog in China, breaks the stereotype of police dogs with his short legs and innocent smile, along with excellent bomb-sniffing skills. This "four-legged officer" quickly became a phenomenon on social networks when a video about him reached more than 1.3 million views on platforms in China and the related hashtag was visited nearly 16 million times. .
It is known that Phuc Tu belongs to the Canine unit of the Weifang Police Department in Shandong province (Eastern China). Unlike regular working dogs with long limbs and strong bodies, Phuc Tu is small in size. However, this Corgi dog exudes confidence and courage no less than large working dogs.
Coach Trieu Thanh Soai met Phuc Tu for the first time at the park when he was just two months old. "At that time, I called Phuc Tu, he immediately ran to me, wagging his tail, looking very confident," he shared.
After receiving permission from Phuc Tu's owner, Mr. Thanh Soai tried to interact with the dog using the method of choosing a professional dog and the results were very surprising. "Compared to other pet dogs, Phuc Tu has a higher interest and desire for balls, toys and food.
After the exchange, Phuc Tu's owner also expressed his desire for the dog to contribute to society, so he decided to donate Phuc Tu to the professional dog training center of Xuong Lac district (Weifang city), turning Phuc Tu becoming the first professional Corgi dog in China," the trainer said.
In the past, professional dogs were often large breeds, but Phuc Tu is a small dog, even one of the smallest dog breeds. When Phuc Tu first arrived at the training center, many people doubted: "With such short legs, can he climb over the obstacle?" , "Can it chase suspects?" , "How can a pet dog become a service dog?".
However, after more than 4 months of training, Phuc Tu has learned basic skills such as carrying out commands, sniffing bombs and distinguishing scents. The dog even knows how to take advantage of its "short legs" to sneak into complex terrain tasks such as under cars and easily search in small spaces.
The staff at the training center has specifically designed a training program for Phuc Tu. That is, every morning after cleaning the barn, the dog begins a day of training with content such as carrying out commands, sniffing bombs, and forming warnings.
Mr. Soai revealed: "Training a pet dog to become a working dog is a big challenge, but Phuc Tu did not disappoint expectations and successfully completed the test after finishing the first training course." .
In order for Phuc Tu to quickly learn the commands, the trainer even had to lie down on the ground. Mr. Soai added that, with other professional dogs, the trainer just needs to stand, but with Phuc Tu, people often have to bend down. "However, Phuc Tu has a very good learning ability and can quickly learn all the commands that the trainer instructs," he said.
Currently, Phuc Tu is still in the basic training stage. After a while, the Corgi dog will undergo the official exam. If he meets the testing standards of the Ministry of Public Security, Phuc Tu will officially be accepted into the payroll and start work.
"As Phuc Tu's trainer, I have very high expectations for this dog. At the same time, I also hope that Phuc Tu can pass the exam smoothly and join us soon," Mr. Thanh Soai shared.
Fu Zi's story has inspired many people, proving that nothing is impossible if we have enough effort and determination. The small Corgi dog with short legs has broken stereotypes and become a symbol of the spirit of overcoming difficulties and persistently pursuing dreams.
