Many internet users were surprised to learn that People's Artist Hong Van's biological father is Associate Professor, Doctor of Science Ngo Ke Suong. He is considered one of the most famous and prominent scientists in Vietnam today.
On Father's Day, People's Artist Hong Van unexpectedly shared photos and wishes for her respected father. This is a rare time the female artist publicly shared the story about her parents. According to Hong Van, they are teachers and silent intellectuals but have a great influence not only on her, but also in the field of science in the country.
People's Artist Hong Van's biological father is not an artist, nor is he active in the arts, but Associate Professor, Doctor of Science Ngo Ke Suong. He was born in 1938, graduated from the Biology Department of the prestigious Lomonosov University (Soviet Union) at the age of 24. Associate Professor Ngo Ke Suong is one of the pioneering scientists in the field of biotechnology in Vietnam, with a series of valuable contributions to the environment and public health sectors.
In his career spanning decades, Associate Professor, Dr. Ngo Ke Suong has held many important positions such as Director of the Center for Experimental Biology, Director of the Institute of Tropical Biology, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Science and Technology Associations. Currently, despite his old age, he continues to participate as a guest member of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Tropical Biology.

Notable among them is the successful cooperation in the production of Superferon, which is effective in treating hepatitis B and C, along with research on the application of anaerobic and anammox techniques in the treatment of livestock wastewater, contributing significantly to the protection of the living environment and public health.
Not only her father, People's Artist Hong Van's mother, Ms. Dang Thi Hong Phuong, is also a typical intellectual. She used to be a chemical engineer working at the Institute of Social Sciences, highly appreciated by her colleagues for her expertise as well as her silent dedication.
Despite growing up in a family of "all scientists", People's Artist Hong Van chose to pursue an artistic career. And fortunately, the female artist was not forced by her parents to follow in her footsteps.
Hong Van once confided: "When I decided to take a theater exam, my parents did not stop me. They even silently supported me by... giving me money to apply."
In her childhood memories, the female artist shared that during the time her father went to study abroad, her mother alone took care of everything in the family, taking care of her two children, fulfilling her role as a mother and also taking on the responsibility of a father. From then on, Hong Van grew up with the image of her mother's resilience, sacrifice and tolerance. To the female artist, her mother is a small but very strong woman.

I pray that my parents will always be like that."
The female artist shared that her mother was easily angered and sulky, but her father was always humble, never raised his voice and was often the one to apologize. The two of them often traveled together, seeing it as a way to "rekindle" their love. From that family foundation, People's Artist Hong Van learned the biggest lesson in married life: the need for loyalty, trust and tolerance.
