Female singer Thai Thao's full name is Pham Thi Thai Thao. She was born in a family with artistic traditions, her father is musician Pham Duy, her mother is singer Thai Hang, her biological aunt is the famous singer Thai Thanh, her uncle is musicians Pham Dinh Chuong and Pham Dinh Viem. She married male singer Tuan Ngoc in 1994. After that, she stopped singing professionally to spend time with her family, and since 2004 she stopped singing. The two have a daughter. Later, when singer Tuan Ngoc returned to Vietnam to perform, she often followed and sometimes went on stage to duet with her husband one or two songs.

Tuan Ngoc was born in 1947 in Da Lat, in a family of artists. He is famous for his lyrical compositions and is considered by many as a "monumental" male vocalist of Vietnamese new music.

When he first started singing, Tuan Ngoc often performed English songs. After 1975, he moved to the US to settle down and started singing Vietnamese songs, but still not many people know. It was not until 1989, when he was 42 years old, that his collaboration with singer Thai Hien in the CD Calling to the Clouds with lyrical songs brought Tuan Ngoc's name closer to many audiences.

Since retreating to the rear, Thai Thao rarely appears in public, she spends time taking care of her family. She used to be a singer, but she was very shy to appear in front of the crowd, nor did she often follow her husband on tour. Although she loves her job, when choosing a life as a wife and mother, Thai Thao does not sing again when her children are grown up. For many years, only occasionally did Tuan Ngoc's wife appear under the audience seats to see her husband perform.
