American Idol 2021 - Contestant Funke Lagoke fainted, when judge Lionel Richie commented

The emergency team immediately ran into the studio and carried Funke Lagoke on a stretcher. She broke her chin and was bleeding. The painful fall woke Funke up and she swore she didn't want stitches in her face.

In the show "American Idol" just aired on the evening of March 23, the contestants were arranged in pairs and performed a duet. Two female contestants Funke Lagoke and Ronda Felton took on the challenge with the song Tell Him by Barbra Streisand and Celine Dion. Although the two tried to support and support each other, their performance was not really good and the judges had to argue to choose who would go on to the next round.

Judge Lionel Richie commented that Ronda Felton sang with power at first but then lost her breath, Funke Lagoke sang well from start to finish but had a few problems. Meanwhile, Funke Lagoke was infused with water and had three stitches on his chin. Luckily without a broken bone, Funke will rest to continue performing in the Showstopper round next week.

On Instagram, Funke Lagoke shared that this was a "traumatic" experience and that she felt "embarrassed" by the incident. However, Funke insists that he will be strong to overcome and will show the audience his unrevealed talent: "As a performer, you want to be highlighted in the best way possible. And every time you remember When it comes to this fall, I always say to myself: I can do more than that incident. Those who know me know I can do more. I pray that America and anyone who has ever seen it. This accident shows that even if we stumble in life, we will come back and fight the next day."
