Tumors that grow in the spinal canal can compress the spinal cord and nerve roots, causing symptoms such as numbness, limb weakness, and can even lead to permanent disability if not intervened in time. The doctor said that Minh Nhan's tumor had inserted into all the nerves, explaining why she had numbness in her back and left leg.

Life-and-death surgery and a difficult recovery journey

Immediately after the diagnosis, Minh Nhan entered a 6-hour surgery. She faced the risk of paralysis, because the doctor only committed to an 80-90% success rate of the operation. "If the operation didn't work, I was likely to be paralyzed," she said.

After successful surgery, the former runner-up of Vietnam Peace was in the recovery room for 24 hours. The initial recovery process was extremely difficult. She could not eat by herself but had to ask relatives to feed her, and for the first week she could only lie down, unable to sit up because her body was stunned. During the day, she was awake, but at night the beauty had a fever and severe headaches like "someone is knocking on the head with a hammer". During this period, anxiety and helplessness almost knocked her down.
