The training and nutrition program is calculated for Xuan Son to ensure a quick bone healing process. It is expected that if all training processes go smoothly, after about 8-9 months. MSc. Nguyen Quyet Thang, Chief Technician at the Center for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Vinmec Times City, said that after surgery, Xuan Son's rehabilitation journey will last at least 6 months, divided into 4 stages with clear goals.

In the first 1-2 weeks, the goal is to control pain, activate the neuromuscular system, restore mobility and prevent complications if any. The next stages are aimed at increasing strength, improving range of motion, balance and physical preparation. After 6 months of maximum intensity training, if the standards are met, Son will be allowed to compete again.

From the time of surgery, if the rehabilitation process is followed well, the player can train at maximum intensity after about 6 months. The time to return to competition cannot be confirmed in advance but will have to be determined through movement analysis tests. According to studies on football players, it takes about 9 months on average to be able to return to competition.

According to Master Nguyen Quyet Thang, the biggest challenge in Xuan Son's case is the transition from high-intensity activities to an injured state, forcing limited movement.

This not only affects the physical but also the mental, requiring close coordination between specialties such as nutrition, psychology, rehabilitation, surgery, along with understanding and strict adherence to Son's treatment regimen.

After surgery, Son needs to follow a scientific exercise regimen, including time control, weight bearing level, and appropriate exercises for both the injured area and the whole body, to maintain physical strength and promote effective bone healing.

At the ASEAN Cup 2024 , Xuan Son scored 7 goals and 2 assists, helping him win the double individual titles of Top Scorer and Best Player. The 27-year-old striker was honored to receive the Third Class Labor Medal from the President for his contributions to the Vietnam National Team.
