Weeekly: Kpop's g.irl group, "shining" visuals without a single flaw

Weeekly is a rookie g.irl group that debuted on June 30, 2020 with their first mini album called We Are. As the first g.irl group that Play M Entertainment introduced to the public nearly 10 years after A Pink (debuted in 2011), Weeekly received a lot of attention and anticipation from the Kpop fan community. The group is expected to become one of the most popular rookies of 2020.

Weeekly was previously known as PlayM Girls and FAVE Girls. The group went through several lineup changes before their official debut. Original members Somin and Soyeon left the group in September 2018, Haelin left in July 2019, and Gaeun left in October 2019. The group eventually settled on 7 members and debuted in 2020.

Weeekly's official fandom name is "Daileee" which means that without "Daileee" (Daily), "Weeekly" cannot exist. The group's official colors are Orchid Bloom, Banana Cream and Beach Glass.

Member Lee Soojin (born in 2001) participated in the survival show MIXNINE, was the center in the theme song Just Dance but then had to leave the competition due to a traffic a.ccident. With a sweet and cute appearance, Soojin is also nicknamed "pink princess". The female idol is always loyal to the motto: "Let us enthusiastically try our best every moment".

Member Shin Jiyoon (born in 2002) also participated in the MIXNINE program and finished in 44th place. She is the lead vocalist, lead dancer and rapper in the group. In addition, the female idol is also talented in drawing and composing music.

In February, member Shin Jiyoon had to suspend her activities again, just before Weeekly's most recent comeback with the single album "Play Game: AWAKE" after returning to activities together in December 2021. Four months later, on June 1, Jiyoon officially left the group due to health reasons. Accordingly, Weeekly will continue to promote as a 6-member lineup.

With the artist's health as the top priority, Jiyoon herself, her family, medical professionals, and IST Entertainment have carefully discussed whether she is ready to resume her activities. However, we have decided that Jiyoon needs to be in an environment where she can fully focus on her mental health and continue to focus on treatment.

Therefore, as of June 1, 2022, Jiyoon will officially e.nd her activities as a member of Weeekly. Weeekly will continue their journey as a six-member group.

Many viewers agree that Weeekly is a potential group. However, others commented that calling the group "visually flaw-free" is quite forced and an over-the-top PR move by the management company.
