But I never expected that it would happen to me.The day the doctor announced that I had cancer, life seemed so peaceful with many plans for the future that suddenly fell into a dead end.

That day, my throat was tight, my heart was broken even though I had told myself to be strong before. The time when I was diagnosed with the disease was also when I had just finished the wedding ceremony, the day I put on my dream wedding dress was not far away. From a healthy girl who has never been sick for a day, I even had to sit in a wheelchair and breathe on an oxygen tank. After the surgery, I had to undergo chemotherapy for many days in pain. The proud back-length hair that used to be completely fell out. In the early days when I got my new hairstyle, I cried every night, soaking my pillow. The side effects of the chemicals made me both physically and mentally exhausted. There was a time when I was too tired, I asked for relief."

Painful, desperate, Diem My had more than once thought of surrendering, she begged her mother to let her be freed. However, family, friends and colleagues have always been there to accompany, encourage and give strength to the young girl to be firm on the challenging journey ahead. Reviving herself, Diem My began to enter 6 rounds of chemotherapy and 3 times of radiotherapy. Hair, eyelashes, eyebrows begin to fall out completely. Long black hair used to be the pride of a Hanoi girl, now she has to say goodbye. Although she was mentally prepared, she couldn't hold back her tears when she saw the hairs falling on the floor.

Diem My shared: "I was extremely sad and tired, but at that time I was in a hurry to tattoo my eyebrows because even though I was sick, I couldn't be ugly. Up to now, I have completed 6 rounds of chemotherapy, 3 times. radiotherapy and officially defeated cancer - the sweet fruit that I had to live half-dead to touch.

After that seemingly insurmountable event, I learned to be resilient and love myself more. Currently, I am starting a new "journey" for myself, with a close friend to launch a humane health and volunteer project.

The young girl seemed to be born again after the biggest shock of her life. Now, she chooses for herself a much more optimistic, happier life.
