In recent days, the marriage story of Hang Du Muc and her Chinese husband has caused a stir among the public. Before Hang Du Muc, there were also many girls who married men from far away who encountered sad stories. A typical example is tiktoker Chu Thi Hien.
"Eating rice before marriage" with a Chinese boyfriend 10 years older
TikToker Chu Thi Hien (born in 2000), because she had no intention of going to university, she did not go to university but instead studied Chinese. Right from the end of grade 12, Hien took the exam to get a Chinese certificate and then she went to Da Nang to work as a Chinese teacher.
Here, Hien met her current husband. He is Chinese, 10 years older than her and the only child in the family. At first, the 10X girl did not have any special impression of her husband, but perhaps fate brought them together.
After 6 months of dating, the TikToker got pregnant unexpectedly, making her extremely confused and scared. "My parents had high expectations of me, never thinking I would get pregnant before marriage. At that time, I was a little happy, but above all, I was scared and confused. I didn't know what he would think when he found out I was pregnant.
Luckily, he was always there to encourage me, saying that he would return to my hometown, choose his words carefully to talk to my parents so that they would agree to let us get married and have a child. That's why I feel very warm and safe," Hien shared.
However, because her visa was about to expire, her husband had to return to China to apply for a visa. Worried that her family would make things difficult for her and that she could not bear it alone, before returning home, he repeatedly reminded her not to reveal her pregnancy to her biological parents and to wait until he returned to resolve everything. Yet as soon as he got on the plane, she called her mother.
The wedding atmosphere is like a funeral and the torment of a child
Needless to say, Hien's parents were shocked. The very next day, her mother went to Da Nang to pick her up and take her back to her hometown. The following days were like hell for her. "For me, that period of time was like hell. Sometimes I just wanted to end my life because the family pressure was too great," Hien recalled, choking with emotion.
3 weeks later, after completing the procedures, her husband returned to Vietnam, came to her house to introduce himself and asked to marry her. Only then did her parents feel a little more secure to let her follow her husband back to Da Nang.
However, the tongue of the world does not need to be as sharp as a sword to be able to defeat a person. The news that Hien was pregnant without a husband and that her future husband was Chinese quickly spread throughout the village. Those who truly loved her were worried, while those who did not love her were nosy and looked for something to gossip about.
Unable to bear this blow, Hien's father left home even though her wedding day was approaching. Before the wedding, she received a call from her father, but she could not have imagined that it would be the last call she would hear from him.
"Dad loves you very much, and your husband too. Dad blesses you two. You're too skinny, you should eat a lot to have the strength to give birth. At that time, I didn't think much of it, I just thought that Dad was telling me that. I was sure that when I came back, Dad would attend the wedding, but when I came back, I found out that Dad had left and that was also the last call I heard from Dad," Hien said, choking up.
Her wedding was not like other weddings, it was like a funeral. It made her tired, scared and just wanted it to be over quickly so she could return to her normal life. Then the wedding ended, her heart felt like a thousand pounds had been lifted, but not long after that another incident happened that made her feel remorseful forever. Her father died.
She said: "A week after the wedding, my husband and I returned to Da Nang and received the news that my father had died of a stroke. That day, I suddenly woke up at 4am, feeling restless and uneasy as if someone was calling me to wake up. I didn't expect that at noon that day, my brother called me to tell me that my father had passed away. Only then did I find out that my father had passed away around that time." Her father's passing left the TikToker tormented and filled with guilt for a long time.
After that, she and her husband moved to China. Partly because her husband was the only child in the family, partly because she wanted to go there to turn a new page in her life, closing the painful past.
The pain and loss gradually subsided. Currently, Hien and her husband's life is quite stable. In addition to being TikTokers, she and her husband also search for, analyze products and connect with sources of goods from China to export to companies in Vietnam. Although living with her husband's parents, her relationship with her husband's family is very good, they both love and support her and her husband a lot in life.
