Once an idol of the 8x - 9x generation with a series of famous hits, singer Thanh Ngoc - is now quiet with a small family. However, to get the current fullness, the female singer had to trade a lot of time and tears. Especially, after 8 years of struggling with physical and mental pain, she can fully enjoy the happiness of being a mother.
Recently, on a TV show, singer Thanh Ngoc, a rare former member of the Mat Ngoc group, shared the whole process of trying to have children at the age of U40. She also revealed that her current state of mental health surprised viewers.
Thanh Ngoc recounts:
"In order to get the present fulfillment, I have to trade a lot of time, tears and pain from body to spirit.
I got married in 2011. After 2 years of enjoying a married life, I plan to have my first child.
However, when I went for a checkup, I discovered that my ovarian reserve was too low, so it was difficult to conceive.
I had to run around looking for Northern remedies to drink, also fortunately conceived naturally but miscarried after only 2 days. From happiness to disappointment, my wife and I decided to turn to Western Medicine to begin a arduous journey of praying for children, being challenged both physically and mentally:
In total, I stimulated eggs 7 times, passed 3 times of IVF but couldn't keep it.
Baby Un is the last embryo I made at the age of U40, after 8 years of waiting. When testing the stick to 2 lines, my wife and I were both happy and worried. During pregnancy, I was always worried, did not dare to take pictures while pregnant.
At first, I had heavy bleeding due to the dissection of the fetus. The doctor advised me to try to lie down, so I had to lie still from the time the embryo was inserted until the time I gave birth, my legs atrophied because I could not walk. When I need to go to the doctor, my husband will carry me, I only step out of bed when I need to go to the bathroom.
During my pregnancy, I almost had to stay in one place to take care of my baby because my body was quite weak, easily affecting the fetus. From a person who is vivacious, cheerful and full of positive energy, I have faced frustration and depression many times.
But fortunately during that difficult period of psychology, my husband and doctor were always there to support and encourage each other and try to stay strong.
The moment my son was born, I didn't have time to rejoice before I had to rush into the next battle. I have so many problems that I have to go to the doctor once a week. My cervix was weak, at 23 weeks I had to stay in the hospital for 1 and a half months to put a cervical support ring to keep the baby.
I had trouble giving birth because the baby was so small, the doctor had to press my side down until it was black.
My baby was born weighing exactly 1.6 kg, too small and weak. I only had time to touch the child, before I could look, the doctor rushed to another hospital to take care of me.
I had to run back and forth between the two hospitals to get milk from me to my baby, she drank up to 9 servings a day. One week after giving birth, I was transferred to another hospital for another 5 weeks.
At that time, my wife and I incubated 3 times a day. I practice breastfeeding but the baby's mouth is too small, so after 3 months, the baby can suckle.
During that difficult time, I cried a lot, but watching my baby grow better every day, I also got some comfort. The day my son returned home, my wife and I were overjoyed with happiness but also filled with worries.
After giving birth, the doctor diagnosed me with an anxiety disorder. Lately, I've been more worried, the current mentality is not very stable.
I tend to imagine clutter, being too perfectionist, so I hug everything, and end up being stressed. I don't trust anyone to leave my child in their care.
My current fullness has proven that the pain and hard work my husband and I have spent are worth it."
Thanh Ngoc was born in 1983 in Ho Chi Minh City. She fell in love with art from a very early age. In 1998, Thanh Ngoc was one of four outstanding vocalists selected by the City Children's House to join the Mat Ngoc group along with Quynh Anh, Thuy Nga and Duy Uyen.
