Thanh Lan is known as a member of the group Red Sun and is the vocal instructor of young singer Gong. Success is so, but few people know that the singer has repeatedly wanted to quit the profession.

Thanh Lan's full name is Pham Thi Thanh Lan, born in 1983 is the singer of Red Sun. In addition to singing, she is currently a vocal instructor for many elite students, such as singer Gong with her hit song "Pink Cheeks".

From an early age, Thanh Lan was a naughty, hyperactive girl who could not sit still for too long, so the family decided to send their daughter to singing lessons at District 1 Children's Home, along with singer Hien Thuc, Quang Vinh,... Thanks to that, she loved music from time to time, and dreamed of becoming a professional singer ever since.

Graduating from high school 3, vocalist 8X chose to attend the undergraduate vocal department of Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music with the desire to improve his knowledge to confidently enter his path as a professional singer.

In 2008, Thanh Lan officially entered artistic activities and became a member of the band Red Sun. In the same year, she released her debut album titled "Where Time Stops" as a milestone to officially become a singer.

Thanks to joining the Red Sun group, the singer has helped the singer learn a lot more from her predecessors, as well as help her high professional level be improved. Since then, all her artistic activities have appeared with thicker frequency and gradually become more known to the audience.

According to current musical tastes, almost all young singers aim to express a variety of music lines and styles. However, Thanh Lan is still loyal to 2 main lines: love songs and folk music.

Currently, besides singing, she is also taking on many different roles such as: Music Director, Vocal Specialist, Vocal Lecturer in many programs: Who will become a star, Star mask, Familiar face, Hidden singer, Double melody ...

In addition, Thanh Lan also participated as a singer in the program "Golden Couple 2018". She also offers music classes to young students at home. Each job brings her own joy, and no matter what role, she tries her best, doing the best she can.

In 2019, vocalist 8X participated in the program "Time Stamp" and made viewers distracted by his unique performance. Many people wonder how she has never lived far from the countryside, so how can she perform the song "Back to the countryside" so emotionally.

"Ho Chi Minh City is Lan's hometown. Lan was not only born and raised here but is also currently working, so he does not have his own passion for being away from home. However, over the years, living together, studying and working with many friends, brothers and sisters and colleagues from many different rural areas, Lan understands the heart of the expatriate son.

They always have a special affection for their homeland, not only expressed with great nostalgia but also striving in their careers with the desire to achieve more success to directly or indirectly contribute to building a rich and beautiful homeland," the singer shared.

Thanh Lan added: "Lan herself is always aware and responsible that she needs to make certain contributions to her homeland. In the role of an artist, I am a bridge connecting joys to life. Therefore, each artwork before its birth was taken seriously and thoughtfully by Lan. The result of the product is to show my love for this country."

Most recently, when appearing on the program "Addition", Thanh Lan had the opportunity to meet his student - Dong - the owner of the hit song "Pink Cheeks". The singer was happy to meet his vocal teacher as well as the one who mentored him in the "Kite of Dreams" contest.

"From the beginning, Lan wasn't impressed with Dong at all and didn't know that he was also famous for some snuff songs because he didn't use social media. It wasn't until the top 3 of the competition came out that Lan noticed and got to know each contestant before he knew about this kid. However, the easiest thing to see is that he has an extravagance of youth and then has changed gradually until now," the singer commented about the student.

Also in the program, Thanh Lan shared that she wanted to quit her profession many times because there was too much pressure. "Sometimes I sit back and think that I tried so hard but in retrospect I didn't get what my peers did. Plus other difficulties, Lan wanted to stop," she said.

However, in the singing segment, vocalist 8X has certain success when participating in the group Red Sun and the group Cadillac. Currently, she is also the music director for several competitions and a vocal instructor for many singers with achievements in the arts.

It is these things that have kept a talent of the Vietnamese music industry. Sharing her plans in the future, the singer wishes to open her own music school.

Not only Thanh Lan, but also Dong himself wanted to give up the art path because economic conditions did not allow it. From a cowboy to support his family, the boy from Phu Yen followed his older brother to the South after graduating from high school. The student pursued his musical dreams every year when he had nothing but the Champion of the provincial "Dream Kite" contest.

"I had to borrow a lot of debt to create a studio, then tinkered with production and composition on my own, not knowing when I would succeed. However, in order to change my life, I always make an effort, sometimes staying up until the morning to learn and compose," Dong said.
