When my hometown did not have dirt roads, my parents bought a Suzuki Viva. That year, I was in 6th grade. Each time I wanted to drive, 2 or 3 people had to carry the car on a passenger train to take 4.5 hours to get to town. When I went to town, I just took that car to play. I was in 8th grade, my parents bought a car. When I went to Saigon to study acting, I drove my own car to school. I don't stay at a motel but stay at a hotel right on Pham Ngu Lao - Cong Quynh street. My mother sent money to the cashier, every time I go to school, I go down there to use it.

Then my mother saw that spending many years at the hotel was also the same as buying a house, so she bought me an apartment near the school to live in.

The rich have been pampered since childhood, but I'm not spoiled. If I were a person with no good roots, I would have become an extremely bad member of society. By the way, I am not involved in alcohol, drugs, gambling.

I myself know those are social evils. Although spending a lot of money from parents, but only one goal is to eat properly, have a decent place to live, not thrifty, miserable, and not wasteful.

I'm not particularly depraved. I have a best friend who is addicted to drugs. He understands my personality, so every time "it's time" he tells me "you go home, you're not part of this. You and I only play together in the morning, but my karma can't be abandoned. I bear the consequences.

Many of my friends are also depressed because of football, but I never bet. I remember there was only one time, I made a happy bet with you for 100,000 VND but was so nervous that I couldn't act. Since then, never bet again. Instead of betting 100,000 or a meal, I am ready to cover you, even for many days, many times that amount, not bet."

Rise to stardom even though you haven't been in the public for a day

When he was a student at An Giang Pedagogical University, he was invited by director Tran Vinh to play the main role in the movie Three Houses Hamlet. This film rekindled in Tan Phat's heart the love for acting.

Not long after that, he went to Ho Chi Minh City to study at the School of Theater and Cinema. And only in the first year, he was invited to play the main role in the film Love Cycle. In the 3rd year, he participated in the movie Calling a Dream with Minh Hang, Huynh Dong and Ngan Khanh. This is a movie that caused a fever in the audience in 2007 and is a launching pad for actors to shine in Vietnamese showbiz.

It can be said that Tan Phat's career path started quite smoothly. The actor rose to stardom without a single day playing a public role.

Fluctuating events in work and marriage

Despite having a favorable start, Tan Phat later encountered major events. Movies like: Love Waves, Sunflowers, Famous Princesses... are not enough to warm up his name in the audience. In addition, he also encountered business failure, family happiness was broken.

This greatly affected Tan Phat's psyche. He suffered from insomnia for a long time, even experienced a stroke, which seemed insurmountable.

He recalled: "I have to admit I am very lucky. I did not have to come up from the shoulders of the masses. But also because of the convenience of being carpeted, there was a time when I was quite complacent.

In the first year, from a photo taken with a friend who participated in the movie "Spindle of Love", I was chosen to play the male lead in this film. There was something wrong with the male lead role, so the producer wanted to cast another actor and accidentally targeted me. The role of Quoc in the "Spindle of Love" made me resonate with the audience a bit.

When I was in my 3rd year, I was again chosen for the male lead role of "Dream Calling". That movie is still being talked about a lot by the audience to this day.

Because the starting point is so good, I don't want to be dependent or indebted to anyone. I don't like hanging out with directors, producers or the press to please. That's why many producers hate me and the press doesn't like me either. In the past, I used to speak frankly, telling the truth, so I lost a lot of people's hearts..

Constantly encountering stumbles and failures in his career and private life, Tan Phat suffers from constant insomnia, from day to day.

"At that time, I was almost unemployed. The producer hated it, so I didn't invite it. The studios didn't hate it, sometimes they still offered roles, but they weren't big. I'm not a star actor, so of course sand. I don't earn much.Besides movies, I act on stage, and I don't earn much.

I'm not used to paying for PR articles. And after once flatly refused to pay for the newspaper, I was almost never interested in the press.

Thanks to the support of my family, I am still alive. But I fell into a feeling of helplessness and discontent.

If nothing happened, I would probably starve to death, because I didn't tie the chicken tightly and didn't know what else to do. Porter, I can do it but definitely can't do it well because it's not my job.

The business fails, opening any restaurant will also lose money. Maybe because I'm an artist, I don't know business calculations. Then the marriage broke up. So many things rushing in at once.

I was depressed for a long time. During that time, I smoked 2 or 3 packs of cigarettes a day. I just sit and smoke and look at the ceiling thinking, why is my life like this ...", Tan Phat frankly shared.

Fortunately, after stumbling and failing, Tan Phat regained his spirit and determined to start over. After experiencing many events in life, Tan Phat realized his love for the profession. He cherishes every opportunity that comes his way and always gives his best in his roles.
