Actor Sam said: "I remember we went out to eat, at that time I sat across from him and sat in the middle with an interpreter friend. At that time, I was not bold enough to speak plus I was not familiar with English or Korean, so I needed to ask for an interpreter. We went together for a few sessions like that and it was a long time before there was no longer an interpreter to accompany us."

During the dating period, Sam and her husband also broke up for about a year because of disagreements.
