After winning the first semi-final, Phuong My Chi continued to compete with a contestant from China in the second semi-final of Sing! Asia 2025. In this round, 8 contestants will compete 1:1 to select 4 people to enter the final round.
According to some sources, in the second semi-final, Phuong My Chi continued to bring a "specialty" of Vietnamese culture, Ca Tru, in the performance Vu co anh on the Sing! Asia stage.
Universe with you (featuring Phao) is the "opening" song for Phuong My Chi's Universe with Flying Storks project in 2023, and is also the song that marks the artist's journey of maturity from the image of a "folk song girl" to a Gen Z singer with more modern music, easy to reach the audience while still carrying the breath of folk culture and tradition.
The song is a disco song with musical elements inspired by Disney animation, combined with the sound of Ca Tru - a unique art form in the treasure trove of traditional Vietnamese music recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage. Vu Co Anh once entered the Spotify Viral Songs chart in Thailand.
To Sing! Asia, the song was arranged by DTAP , combining symphony, EDM and ca tru. In which, DTAP put the hook at the beginning, highlighting Vietnamese "ca tru".
Not only that, a new rap version was written specifically for the Sing! Asia stage with the support of rapper Phao with the message that Tam steps out into the world with a new spirit.
In the mix, the crew used the live recording of the fiddle, creating an interesting sound in the overall song. It is known that Phuong My Chi's direct opponent in this round is the Chinese contestant Ai Tan Giac La Mi. She has a mezzo-soprano, husky voice.
With Universe Has You, Phuong My Chi continues to show off her vocal strengths and ends the song with an impressive high note.

Sing! Asia is a large-scale competition that brings together 32 contestants from many Asian countries such as Thailand, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia... taking place on a cruise ship for 30 days, passing through many locations and ending in Hong Kong.
At the first competition station in Ha Long Bay (Vietnam), Phuong My Chi sang "Buon trang", inspired by the poem "Day thon Vi Da" by Han Mac Tu, and "Rock hat gao", praising the rice civilization.
She wore a costume with Northern colors including ao tu than, yem dao, non quai thao and sang typical folk songs, combined with Vovinam martial arts. At the Singapore station, Phuong My Chi brought a mashup performance of Ly Bac Bo - Pushing the Ox Cart inspired by the story of Vo Beg by Kim Lan, imbued with Quan Ho folk songs and Northern Delta culture.
In the quarter-finals, the artist performed Bong phu hoa, inspired by The Tale of Nam Xuong (Nguyen Du). The arrangement used the sound of the zither, a traditional instrument of Southern amateur music, and elements of folk Buddhist culture.
In the first semi-final, she collaborated with Kha Lau in a mashup performance called Tuy am - Luc hai vi vuong, which used a passage from the opera Tieng trong Me Linh and Chinese opera. The two traditional theatrical forms did not mix but supported each other, preserving their own identities in a special performance.
Chinese music diva Truong Leung Dinh said this performance gave her the feeling "like watching a vocal circus act".
"It was an acrobatic performance with two intricately intertwined voices, flying and spinning. But no matter how technically difficult the moves were, they always landed gracefully and elegantly, ending perfectly," commented Zhang Liangying.
To Huu Bang said "so awesome" because he couldn't imagine how the two songs would sound together. But unexpectedly "the performance was surprisingly beautiful", "in terms of overall performance and vocals, this is probably the most complete team, well done". To Huu Bang especially praised Phuong My Chi: "After a few rounds without seeing each other, you have improved so much".
In this round, the artist born in 2003 continued to bring Ca Tru. Phuong My Chi truly wanted to bring all the beauty of Vietnamese culture to "show off" to the world.
