He admitted: "At that time I was not confident in standing on stage, I was afraid to stand in front of everyone, it was a huge mark."

The truth about this incident was revealed: in 2020, Bui Duy Ngoc had a traffic accident, leading to a brain injury, broken cheekbones and hemifacial paralysis. As a result, he lost serious weight, lost confidence, and needed a long time to recover.

Regain your spirit through music

During that difficult time, the male singer had to wear long hair to cover the affected face, because he did not want to receive pitying eyes from others. Music is the only place that helps him keep his spirit. Ngoc has persistently performed physical therapy in parallel with composing and vocal training, gradually restoring her expressive ability on stage.

He shared: "Thanks to music, I learned how to breathe, how to hold my breath, how to stay mentally strong." After nearly a year of treatment and training, although his face still bears traces of the accident, Bui Duy Ngoc was able to return to work. He temporarily retired behind the scenes for a few years, supporting his brothers and sisters artists. It wasn't until he felt that his voice and spirit had gradually stabilized, that he was determined to return to the role of a singer.
