Nick Moran in critical condition, Harry Potter producer announces important news for new series

Recently, international media reported that actor Nick Moran - who participated in the Harry Potter series - was taken to the emergency room and underwent emergency spinal surgery after suffering a serious neck injury.

According to the Daily Mail, Moran initially thought he had just a common neck pai.n and tried to treat it himself with painkillers. However, his girlfriend urged him to go to the hospital for a check-up. There, doctors immediately discovered that he had spinal cord damage, severely affecting the nerves that control motor skills and language. Moran's close friend - producer Terry Stone revealed: "Doctors told Nick that there was a possibility that he would never be able to walk or talk again. But Nick chose to take the risk, because for him, losing the ability to move was still better than losing his life."

The actor's surgery was lengthy and difficult as doctors had to remove four damaged vertebrae and replace them with artificial bones. "Because there are so many nerves around the neck area, this was an extremely risky surgery," added the actor's close friend Nick Moran.

The 56-year-old actor is now recovering. Nick Moran can talk again, but still wears a neck brace and has difficulty moving. "He walks slowly like a 100-year-old man, but the most important thing is that he is out of danger," Stone said.

Nick Moran's representative also confirmed that the surgery took place more than a week ago and he has now been discharged from hospital to continue his recovery at home.

First Look at the New Cast

The casting of John Lithgow, a veteran American actor, as Dumbledore has caused mixed reactions among fans. Despite his stellar acting skills in series such as The Crown and Dexter, the fact that he is not British has caused some fans to express concern. However, the producers have insisted that this was a carefully considered decision and was based entirely on his ability to portray the character.

On the contrary, the remaining actors are all British, helping to maintain the "British specialty" of Harry Potter. Janet McTeer - an Oscar-nominated actress - will bring a new but still majestic image to Professor McGonagall. One of the big changes in the new series is the ag.e of the characters. For example, Alan Rickman's Snape is 55 in the film, while Essiedu is 34. Quirrell has also been "de-aged" with Luke Thallon being just 29 - compared to Ian Hart's 37 in the film.

This reflects HBO's approach to recreating characters closer to JK Rowling's original books, where most of the Hogwarts teachers are younger than the images audiences have seen on the big screen.

Expectations for Max's long-running series

The Harry Potter series on HBO Max will be the first full-length television adaptation, with each season corresponding to a book in the original series. The series is expected to last between seven and 10 seasons, and is one of the key projects in Max's long-term content strategy.

Author JK Rowling will also be on board as an executive producer, ensuring the film stays true to the source material. The project is currently in pre-production, and has no official release date, but is expected to air in 2026.
