Nham Hien Te: "King star" is a swordplay movie, whichever movie you star in is a disaster

Nham Hien Te is a famous singer and actor in Asia in the 90s and early 2000s. During his film career, there are movies that he probably doesn't want to remember, because they were too unsuccessful, acting in swordplay movies. Which movie is a disaster?

Nham Hien Te (born in 1966), while still in college, founded the ATP Band with his close friend, performed around universities and became a very famous DJ within the universities. In his final year of college (1990), he was discovered by Tan Cach record company, then signed a contract as a singer, and together with other singers, released his first album titled "Run Towards the Rainbow".

During the 2 short years 1990-1991 in Tan Cach, Nham Hien Te released 3 more personal albums but his achievements were still not better. After that, Nham Hien Te switched to acting and hosting performances, becoming a director. was the favorite student of the small screen, but at that time he had to join the army and had to put his career on hold.

In 1994, when Nham Hien Te was discharged from the army, he discovered that Tan Cach company had gone bankrupt and his recording contract fell to a very famous music company at that time, Can Thach.

From 1994 to 1996 was the bleakest time for Nham Hien Te because the Can Thach company had too many famous singers. Nham Hien Te waited for more than two years but it was not his turn to release a record. Meanwhile, he still does jobs outside of singing to earn extra income.

In her music career, Nham Hien Te has hit songs such as: Soft Heart, The Gir.l Across The Face Looks Over Here, Love Like the Pacific Ocean... Many of Nham Hien Te's songs were rewritten. Vietnamese lyrics, so he is also a familiar name to Chinese music and movie lovers in Vietnam.

In 1997, the song "Soft Heart" by Nham Hien Te was released and created a fever throughout Asia, setting a record of 26 million records sold. Not only that, Nham Hien Te is also the first and only Chinese singer to set a record of selling over 10 million records. With this record, Nham Hien Te became a popular name, a monument in the Chinese music industry.

Not only is he a musical icon in the Chinese music industry, Nham Hien Te also entered the film industry and was nominated for the Best Male Lead category of the Golden Statue Award (1999) with the movie Volunteer or Award. Best male lead at the Busan International Film Festival (Korea) with the action movie Fire Dragon.

If in the field of modern music and films, Nham Hien Te has achieved much success, then in the martial arts film genre, he is not so lucky. Swordplay films such as The Legend of the Condor Heroes, So Luu Huong, Smiling and Proud Wanderer with his presence failed miserably.

Condor Heroes 1998 was produced by Taiwan, starring Nham Hien Te and Ngo Thanh Lien (this year there was also a Singapore version starring Ly Minh Thuan and Pham Van Phuong). This is the most criticized version, not inferior to the 2014 version later played by Tran Hieu and Tran Nghien Hy.

Tieu Long Nu's appearance in this version is terribly disrupted, wearing a black outfit from beginning to end. Duong Qua, played by Nham Hien Te, was severely criticized, because that year he was 32 years old and still "playing hard to get by". His old face, not handsome, and exaggerated acting like a comedy... caused his version of Duong Qua to receive "criticism" from the audience.

The film's content does not follow the original and is "parodied" a lo.t, which is also a serious minus point. The film is considered one of the failures in Nham Hien Te's career.

After the failure of Condor Heroes 1998 , Nham Hien Te still had the "courage" to take on another role in the Kim Dung swordplay universe, which is the role of Linghu Chong in Smiling Wanderer 2000 .

Although in the original work, Linh Ho Chong is not a great handsome man, but at the ag.e of 34 and Nham Hien Te's old appearance to play a role in his twenties like Linh Ho Chong, it is really not suitable. His character design was criticized no less than Duong Qua before.

Nham Hien Te's acting continues to cause controversy, as he still carries the flamboyant and exaggerated comedy style of Linghu Chong. The female actress who co-starred with him, Vien Vinh Nghi, was also criticized for acting stiffly when playing the role of Saint Nham Doanh Doanh.

The content of Smiling and Arrogant Wanderer 2000 continues to be considered a "disaster" when it is over-adapted and no longer follows the original Kim Dung work. Some viewers think that Nham Hien Te should settle down and sing and act in movies or modern movies, rather than star in the movie Kim Dung like this.

After Smiling and Proud Wanderer 2000 , Nham Hien Te thought he had experienced enough failure, but his confidence was still there. He continued to participate in another swordplay film, So Luu Huong 2001 , adapted from the swordplay novel of the same name by Co Long.

The image of Marshal So Luu Huong, handsome, gallant, and elegant, was successfully portrayed by Trinh Thieu Thu and Mieu Kieu Vy. As for Nham Hien Te's So Luu Huong, when it was broadcast, it was criticized as "the ugliest ever" (later, there was also Chu Hieu Thien).

His style of So Luu Huong is rustic, not romantic or pompous... even though he poses in a pure white outfit. Indeed, Nham Hien Te cannot be an "ancient prince".

So Luu Huong 2001 continues to be a disaster film adaptation. Most of the content was changed, adding many characters that were not in the original... Although the film brings together famous actors from Taiwan and Hong Kong such as Lam Tam Nhu, Le Tu, Truong Ve Kien, Duong Cung Nhu ... can't help make the movie better.

As for his personal life, Nham Hien Te leads a quiet life and is very secretive to the media. In 2002, during a performance in the US, the actor officially announced his marriage to his girlfriend Tina, a person from outside the entertainment industry. In 2005, his family welcomed their first daughter and 3 years later continued to welcome the second member. Currently, the U70 actor's family of four is very happy.
