Musician Tran Tien: From a wandering boy to the father of songs that accompany the years, U80 lives a simple life

Tran Tien is considered a great tree, a musician who paved the way for contemporary Vietnamese music. Besides a proud artistic career, he is also admired by many people for having a happy home.

Musician Tran Tien was born in 1947 in a family with many famous people in the arts, in which his brother is People's Artist Tran Hieu, and his niece is diva Tran Thu Ha.

In his youth, Tran Tien used to live wandering in the alleys of Hanoi. At the age of 16, in order to make ends meet, he worked as a backstage for the Hanoi Ca and Dance Troupe. Here, he was regularly exposed to music, and "learned" himself about vocals and singing.

Thanks to his natural talent, hard training and a little luck, a year later, Tran Tien officially became a soloist of the Hanoi Dance and Dance Troupe. After that, he followed the troupe to perform in many areas of the fire line at that time. It was also during this time that the songs "Youth to the frontline" and "Beautiful Sam Nua Girl" were born, helping him win the A prize in the Voice over the bomb competition organized by the Vietnam Musicians Association.

In 1978, Tran Tien graduated from the Department of Vocals and Composition of the Hanoi Conservatory of Music. After graduating, his first songs had patriotic themes such as Fatherland Melodies, Bullet-shaped Eyes, Round Footprints in the Sand...

In 1987, musician Tran Tien founded the rock band Black-White and toured across the country. His songs during this period were in favor of Doi Moi.

In the 1990s, Tran Tien had a change in style. From simple pop, he turned to composing contemporary folk songs. His typical songs for this style include "Ui Immortal Li" (Ok Horse), Improvised Red River, "Home"... all of which were warmly received by the audience.

In 2000, musician Tran Tien held his first live show at Hoa Binh Theatre. In 2005, his song "Rain Flying Ancient Tower" was successfully performed by singer Tung Duong and won the Song of the Month award in the Vietnamese Song program.

In 2007, musician Tran Tien was awarded the State Prize in Literature and Art for his works The Song of Youth to the Frontline, Beautiful Sam Nua Girl, The Melody of the Fatherland, The Proposal Ring, and the Horse's Improvisation. oh, my sister... These are all considered masterpieces, with the vitality that goes with the years.

Love at first sight with a gentle wife

The life partner of the author "Colors" is Mrs. Bich Nga, born in 1950 and graduated from Hanoi Pedagogical University. After graduating, she taught at many famous schools in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

As for the love affair with a famous musician, the two met when musician Tran Tien performed at Dai Nam theater in 1971.

"She's so pretty, and I fell in love at first sight. I tried to get to know her and was happy to know that she liked Tran Tien's song "Sam Nua Girl", and that's it.

That year my wife was a final year student at Hanoi National University of Education. Checking tickets at Dai Nam cinema is just a part-time job for students to earn money. And I'm just a not-so-famous singer," the musician once revealed to the media.

After a year of research, musician Tran Tien and his wife, 3 years younger, officially returned to the same house. And it was only after a stable career that he and his wife gave birth to their first child.

Although working in different fields, Ms. Bich Nga has created all the best conditions for her husband to maintain and pursue his passion. In the eyes of a talented musician, his wife is a beautiful, gentle woman who wholeheartedly loves her husband and children.

When he wanted to have his own space to compose and do the things he liked, Bich Nga never complained and was always quietly beside her husband. Because she has a simple life and is not used to the entertainment environment, the wife of musician Tran Tien rarely appears in front of the crowd.

In recent years, the musician and his wife have lived in Vung Tau. Every day, both of them get up early to exercise, take care of the garden and do housework.

During the time when musician Tran Tien had health problems, Bich Nga was always there to encourage and take good care of her husband.

The age of 75 reappeared after a severe illness, living a normal life

As a musician of "calibre", but in real life, Tran Tien lives and conducts music activities very simply. People can see the image of him singing passionately, wandering around at sidewalk pubs, beer halls, or stopping to eat popular pho, sticky rice, and banh cuon stalls...

Tran Tien confided: "In the old days, I was invited by fans to eat luxurious parties, costing tens of millions of dong. At that time, I was just a poor musician, but I refused them. I couldn't eat. painting with rich people who have no knowledge. I like to sit with my friends even at ordinary sidewalk shops."

A few years ago, Tran Tien discovered that he had nasopharyngeal cancer in an extremely difficult to detect and treat cancer location. He had to pass up to 20 times of radiation therapy, a number not everyone can tolerate. But being a person with exceptional health and quite resilient, within 2 years Tran Tien overcame the initial illness and recovered in an unbelievable way.

"8 times hospitalized because of illness, 8 times I thought I was going. 8 times Vung Tau "pale" afraid that Mr. Tran Tien would die here, it would be too painful. However, God told me to live. Luckily, I sit and laugh, spend a little, drink again", the musician jokingly recounts the illness in the righteous and liberal style of "Tran Tien".

Sharing more about his condition, musician Tran Tien told Giadinh.net: "I went through a period of illness, but I used music as a "therapeutic method." Especially, after lying down for a while. Back home from the hospital, I practice jogging every day combined with other sports to exercise.

Recently, musician Tran Tien has continuously re-appeared with many music projects. He made a live show Love Story, attended a music night to thank the doctors on the front lines against the epidemic, collaborated with rapper Den Vau to make a cheering MV... and also participated in many other music nights.

It can be seen that, after overcoming the illness, musician Tran Tien has returned to music, with composing and performing, especially his voice is still very strong. Perhaps because he was a very optimistic and resilient person, he returned to a fairly healthy life.
