Nguyen Ngoc Kieu Duy crowned Miss Vietnam, 2k3 behaves like swallowing the mic

The final night of the Miss Vietnam 2024 contest officially ended with the highest position awarded to the beauty from Can Tho - Nguyen Ngoc Kieu Duy. Kieu Duy's victory received great sympathy from fans.

On the evening of December 28, the final round of Miss Vietnam 2024 took place in Ho Chi Minh City. The contestants performed in the opening performance in brocade costumes inspired by the culture of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups, to the theme song Vietnam - the beauty of the world.

From the top 60 contestants, the Organizing Committee selected the top 30, top 9, top 5 and finally the final top 3. The top 3 of Miss Vietnam 2024, with the highest position named Nguyen Ngoc Kieu Duy, the titles of 1st Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up were awarded to Do Thi Phuong Thanh and Nguyen Thi Cam Ly respectively. The victory of the beauty from Can Tho received a lot of sympathy, because in the behavioral round, the 2k3 beauty "swallowed the mic" causing the other 2 contestants to fail. Notably, she is also the first beauty queen in Vietnam to receive a phoenix robe as a prize, in addition to the beauty crown.

Accordingly, the top 3 answered the question: "Why do you deserve to be crowned Miss Vietnam?". Kieu Duy answered first. She chose to express herself in two languages: "During the contest, I was trained in the virtues of being virtuous, well-spoken, and patriotic. With constant efforts, I went from a girl weighing 60 kg and in the top 5 in body shape, to now being in the top 3. I firmly believe that the beauty queen is recognized not only for her external beauty, but also for her talent and the value she contributes to the community. With the desire to contribute more, I am confident that I am a worthy representative at Miss International".

Do Thi Phuong Thanh remained calm. She replied: "I always strive to become a virtuous woman. And if I become the new Miss Vietnam, all my efforts and intelligence will be devoted to contributing and spreading the values that the contest aims for."

Contestant Cam Ly's performance was not really impressive. She shared: "Every contestant strives for virtues such as being virtuous, well-spoken, and well-behaved. The person who becomes a beauty queen must have all those qualities, along with the courage and intelligence to compete internationally. In addition, a beauty queen must also inspire young people to make Vietnam a better country. I hope to contribute more to the community and the country."

After announcing the second runner-up, Miss Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy asked the top 2 Phuong Thanh and Kieu Duy questions in English to choose the winner. Accordingly, Thanh Thuy asked: "If you become the new Miss, what will you bring the best of Vietnam to Miss International 2025?".

Kieu Duy showed her courage and confidence when she excellently overcame the challenge and made an impressive closing speech in Japanese. Kieu Duy shared: "For me, Vietnam has many beautiful things that I want to bring to the world. I want to introduce the beautiful image of Vietnam to international friends. I understand that young people have to do many things, solve global issues such as education, environment... like Miss Thanh Thuy is doing very well. If I become Miss, I hope I will spread the youth to beautify Vietnam."

The new Miss Kieu Duy, born in 2003, scored points with her fluent English and confident way of speaking. Before the final, she was in the top 4 of Miss Eloquence, Miss Body and Miss Talent. Her profile shows that she won the Miss Tay Do 2023, Miss FPTU Can Tho, and 1st Runner-up of Thanh Lich Can Tho City High School and Student Contest. Kieu Duy has a beautiful face, but is short (1.67 m).

With the victory at Miss Vietnam 2024, Kieu Duy also officially became the representative of Vietnam to compete in Miss International 2025 - the third largest beauty contest in the world, where Miss Thanh Thuy just made history for her country when she won.
