A resident of Lang Nu village sent 10 million VND to the Vietnam Fatherland Front to share with the victims, even though he himself is being treated in the hospital and his wife and 3 children have all passed away in the landslide and flood.
Mr. Hoang Van Nham, born in 1988, one of the residents of Lang Nu village (Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province) is being treated at Bao Yen district general hospital. Although he himself was the unfortunate victim, he still does what he says. It is sad that many individuals take advantage of natural disasters to fake bills to increase their self-worth.
During the landslide, Mr. Nham was swept away a long distance and was pulled to shore without knowing anything. After regaining consciousness, he received the news that his wife and three children had all lost their lives. Shocked and saddened, Mr. Nham only wanted to return to Lang Nu to hold the funeral for his wife and children, but he himself was seriously injured and needed long-term treatment.
In recent days, some people who knew about Mr. Nham's situation came to the hospital to visit him and support him with some money to take care of himself. Ms. Vu Bich Hong (from Lai Chau) visited and supported Mr. Nham, expressing her wish to adopt Mr. Nham as her younger brother so that she could continue to support him to stabilize his life in the future.
Mr. Hoang Van Nham shared: "After the storm, not only my family was in mourning, my hometown suffered losses, but many places were also damaged. I received sympathy from many people and sent money to support. I want to use the money I received from benefactors to send to the Vietnam Fatherland Front to help people in the damaged areas. Now I cannot travel or do anything, so I asked Ms. Hong to contact and connect to help me transfer 10 million VND to the Vietnam Fatherland Front. I want to contribute to sharing everyone's loss. Everyone has pain, we need to try."
Fulfilling Mr. Nham's wish, Ms. Bich Hong supported Mr. Nham to transfer 10 million to the Vietnam Fatherland Front on the afternoon of September 17. Expressing her emotion at Mr. Nham's kindness, Ms. Bich Hong shared: "In Nham's situation, the doctor recommended that it would take 3 weeks to 1 month for him to be able to stand up and walk again, and 6 months to recover, so the coming time will be very difficult for him. I did not keep all the support from everyone to myself but also sent 10 million to the Vietnam Fatherland Front to share with other victims. I have suffered a great loss, but I still want to share with everyone because I know that not only my village of Nu suffered the loss but also the provinces in the Northern region suffered a lot of damage due to storms and floods".
Mr. Nham is currently being treated for a pelvic injury and will need 6 months to recover and walk normally.
It can be seen that Mr. Nham will face many difficulties when returning to Lang Nu because his wife and children are no longer there. However, everyone believes that, with his heart and will, Mr. Nham will start a new life with good things waiting ahead.
The pain for the people of the North has not yet subsided, social networks have recorded more information about the high risk of Vietnam welcoming another storm number 4 about to make landfall, 140km from Da Nang.
According to weather forecasts, the very fast movement time will cause the storm formed from the tropical depression currently existing in the East Sea to affect the mainland very soon. However, when approaching the sea area of provinces from Quang Ngai to Quang Binh, the storm will slow down, following the coastline before making landfall, causing the time of impact to be long and the area of influence to be very wide.
At 4:00 a.m. this morning (September 18), the center of the tropical depression was about 250 km east of Hoang Sa archipelago. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression was level 7 (50-61 km/h), gusting to level 9. In the past hours, the tropical depression has been moving very quickly in a westerly direction at a speed of about 25 km/h. It is forecasted that during the day and tonight (September 18), the tropical depression will move mainly in a west-southwesterly direction at a speed of about 20 km/h and strengthen into storm No. 4.
At 4:00 a.m. tomorrow (September 19), the storm center will be about 340km east-southeast of the mainland from Quang Binh to Da Nang provinces, with the strongest winds near the storm center at level 8, gusting to level 10.
During the day and night of September 19, when approaching the sea area of Da Nang - Quang Ngai, the storm changed direction to the west-northwest, moving slowly, about 15km/h, following the sea area of Quang Ngai, Da Nang, Hue, Quang Tri, Quang Binh, Ha Tinh with a strong intensity of level 8, gusting to level 10. At 4:00 a.m. on September 20, the storm center was on the coastal area of Quang Binh to Da Nang provinces.
Due to the influence of the pre-storm cloud area, followed by the storm circulation, from September 18 to September 20, the North and Central Central regions will have heavy to very heavy rain with common rainfall from 100-300mm, locally over 500mm. The meteorological agency warns of the risk of flooding in low-lying areas due to heavy rain as well as the possibility of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas.
