People's Artist Cong Ly shared : "Dung's first son just called me to inform me that Mr. Dung had passed away at 14:15 at the hospital".

At the end of December 2020, People's Artist Hoang Dung had to undergo surgery because of a worsening spine disease. Previously, at the premiere of the movie "Return to the middle of love" in Hanoi, People's Artist Hoang Dung appeared in a very difficult situation of walking.
