Singer My Tam - one of the most famous artists in Vietnamese music - is not only known for her illustrious music career but also for the way she has successfully built and managed her personal YouTube channel.
The singer's channel has attracted over 2.51 million subscribers and garnered over 1.82 billion views, becoming a treasure trove of quality content including music videos, live shows, and meticulously produced behind-the-scenes clips. This demonstrates her influence on digital platforms, loved by generations of audiences both domestically and internationally.
However, this popularity has also made My Tam a target for exploitation in the era of rapidly developing AI. Recently, the female singer has repeatedly spoken out to warn about her image and voice being faked using artificial intelligence technology, appearing in automated videos advertising products of unknown and illegal origin on social media.
According to information posted by My Tam, many clips using AI technology to impersonate her image and voice for illegal advertising have appeared on platforms such as Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram. The female artist asserted that this is not only false advertising but also fraud and a violation of the law if viewers believe and purchase products from such content.
My Tam urged her audience to be cautious, vigilant, and absolutely not buy products from such unusual advertisements. She also reminded fans to share this warning with friends and family so that more people are aware and can avoid being exploited by scammers, especially those disguised advertisements under the guise of attractive content.
It's worth noting that this isn't the first time the singer has been the target of digital impersonation. In recent years, she has repeatedly had to post corrections regarding advertisements unrelated to her. The repetition of these warnings shows that the problem of AI-powered impersonation is escalating and becoming increasingly sophisticated.
Fake clips often use familiar images of My Tam, combined with AI-generated voiceovers to create a realistic feel. To the naked eye, viewers sometimes find it difficult to recognize that this is not official content from the artist. These videos are created in a style similar to everyday posts, making viewers easily believe that it is a genuine message sent by the artist to her fans.
The problem isn't limited to My Tam alone. On social media, many other artists have also had their names and images exploited for advertising, sales, or fake news. This content often spreads rapidly thanks to the algorithms of digital platforms, which prioritize content with high engagement. When viewers interact with clips featuring celebrities, the system automatically distributes them more widely, allowing the fake videos to reach even more new users more quickly.
From a technological perspective, My Tam's case reflects the prevalence and sophistication of current AI-generated characters. With just a small amount of readily available image and voice data online, AI systems can recreate characters with high accuracy. This blurs the line between real and fake without clear warning signs or verification from official sources.
In this context, detecting and dealing with AI-generated content remains a major challenge. Many social media platforms have deployed deepfake detection tools, but the pace of development of forgery technology often outpaces these solutions. When one form is detected, new, more sophisticated variations may emerge.
With their widespread influence and vast amounts of data across multiple digital platforms, artists like My Tam not only need to manage their real-life image but also constantly monitor the digital space to protect their identity and reputation. This presents a new challenge in the AI era, where images and voices can be easily copied without effective preventative measures.
My Tam invests in Mai Tai Phen's film project, a project that promises to be a hit.
Minh Lợi08:04:17 18/12/2025On the afternoon of December 17th, the film crew officially released a poster showcasing Mai Tài Phến's character, marking the first time the actor has taken on a significant role in a project he has long been working on.
