Miss Earth Vietnam 2023 used to be a pilot while in America, promising to bring the second crown to Vietnam.

Miss Do Thi Lan Anh - Tan Miss Earth Vietnam 2023 possesses excellent foreign language skills when she can fluently use 4 languages. Recently, she revealed that she used to be a pilot when she was in America.

Miss Do Thi Lan Anh was born in 1997, is 1m71 tall and has body measurements: 85-60-95cm. She was born in Hanoi, left her hometown at the age of 1 to go to Europe, then settled in the US with her family. The beauty graduated from California State University Fullerton. The queen speaks 4 languages: Vietnamese, English, Spanish, Korean; has a knack for contemporary dance and drama. The beauty started a cosmetics company at the age of 24 but stopped her business when she planned to return to Vietnam to live.

Sharing with Vietnamnet, beauty queen Lan Anh revealed her childhood dream of becoming a pilot. During her time living and studying in the US, she partly fulfilled her dream when a friend taught her how to fly a plane and had the opportunity to sit in the cockpit. Lan Anh worked as a co-pilot on a small plane that could accommodate 3 to 4 people and flew over the California coast.

Coming to America to live at a young age, Lan Anh planned to return to Vietnam to start a business. She had no intention of competing in the beauty contest beforehand, so she signed up to experience, learn, and eventually be crowned Miss Earth Vietnam 2023.

Previously, the beauty said that when she learned about Miss Earth Vietnam, she thought this was an opportunity to return to her homeland's culture as well as better understand the nature and environment of Vietnam.

According to Lan Anh, small actions such as recycling plastic bottles, old clothes, planting small trees at home, using public transportation more... will help minimize negative impacts on the environment. The new Miss Earth Vietnam believes that every small action from each individual can create a big change.

Having faced stereotypes about a beauty queen, Lan Anh affirmed that the ability to connect, empathize, and inspire are important factors, not just external beauty and performance ability. She is proud of the beauty of Vietnamese women, believing that the audience is also changing their concept of beauty.

It can be seen that even though the queen's Vietnamese grammar is not good and her vocabulary is limited, she still tries to communicate entirely in her mother tongue. Sharing about how to "not lose your roots" when leaving home when you couldn't speak, Lan Anh said:

"When living in America, my mother always talked to me in Vietnamese so I wouldn't forget my roots. When I was in middle school, there was a time when I only talked in English. During that time, my mother said Vietnamese was useless. should be lost.

My family and grandparents are still in Vietnam, my mother wants me to communicate with relatives in Vietnamese. My mother wants me to be someone who cares about the family and preserves the Vietnamese language.

When I was young, I didn't understand how important speaking Vietnamese was. When mother and daughter sat together and listened to my mother explain traditional culture, I learned how to read and write Vietnamese in addition to speaking my mother tongue every day with my family."

Vietnam had its first Miss Earth crown thanks to the outstanding performance of Miss Phuong Khanh during the contest. Although she has a modest height of just over 1m70, Phuong Khanh possesses extremely good thinking and foreign language. Those are also similarities with the new Miss Earth 2023 - Do Thi Lan Anh. Therefore, fans have great expectations for this "export" from Vietnam.

Miss Earth 2023 contest will take place in Vietnam from November 28, with the participation of 114 beauties from all over the world to compete. The final of the competition will be held on December 22.
