Recently, the lighting system on the Miss Cosmo 2024 stage suddenly collapsed, causing many people to panic. That same night, the contest's Organizing Committee spoke up to reassure the audience and clearly informed about the incident.

On the afternoon of September 28, a serious incident occurred at Phu Tho Stadium (HCMC) - the venue for the Semi-Finals and Finals of Miss Cosmo 2024. According to nearby sources, part of the stage serving the competition night collapsed, the extent of damage to people and property is unknown.

That same evening, the entrances to the stadium were barricaded, with security guards on duty at the main door. Authorities were also present at the scene and initially investigated the incident. Outside the stadium, people were still gathered and business activities were going on as usual.

Notably, after the news spread online, an account revealed that the Miss Cosmo stage collapsed, injuring one person. However, this information has not been verified. Late at night, the Miss Cosmo organization officially responded to the incident.

"On September 28, 2024, a technical incident occurred during the preparation for the main stage of the contest. Upon discovery, the Miss Cosmo organization immediately cooperated with technical experts, medical units and relevant authorities to resolve this situation.

Initial assessments confirm that there is no significant damage. We will continue to work with the relevant parties to determine the cause of the incident and provide updates to the public as soon as possible.

We have also taken measures to ensure the health and well-being of all contestants. Their safety remains our top priority at this time. All information regarding the Miss Cosmo 2024 Semi-Final and Final Night will be shared with you as soon as possible," the announcement on the contest's official website said.

It is known that the Miss Cosmo stage has been set up for the past few days at Phu Tho Stadium. As of September 28, all basic preparations have been completed, ready for the contestants to enter the program's rehearsal. The incident has worried many fans of the contest in Vietnam and many countries. With the announcement that there is no serious damage, they hope that the Semi-final (October 2) and Final (October 5) will take place as planned.

Miss Cosmo is the first beauty pageant held in Vietnam, introduced with the goal of pioneering women, empowering and accompanying them to create a civilized community, realizing good values for the community through both voice and action.

This year's season officially kicked off in June, attracting more than 56 contestants from countries and territories around the world. The judges announced include: Ms. Paula Shugart - former President of Miss Universe; Mr. Pham Quang Vinh - former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, former Ambassador of Vietnam to the United States; Mr. George Chien - Co-founder, CEO and Chairman of KC Global Media; Miss Universe 2021 - Harnaaz Sandhu and Runner-up Kim Duyen.

Mr. Tran Viet Bao Hoang - Executive Director, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest said, Miss Cosmo 2024 is professionally organized according to international standards with activities taking place in Ho Chi Minh City and major tourist cities of the S-shaped strip of land.

The new Miss will receive a prize of 100,000 USD and many working contracts after being crowned. Vietnam's representative at Miss Cosmo 2024 is Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 - Bui Thi Xuan Hanh.

Since last September, beauties representing many countries and territories have come to Vietnam, starting a series of activities of the contest. Besides the fixed schedule of the Organizing Committee, they also experience tourism and Vietnamese culture in each locality.
