Lynda Trang Dai continues to be entangled in legal trouble in the US. Data from the Orange County Court (Florida) shows she is not eligible for the Pretrial Diversion program. This means that she continues to be prosecuted and is not given clemency.
Singer Lynda Trang Dai, who was once dubbed the Vietnamese Madonna, is at risk of going to court after her application to participate in the alternative prosecution (PTD) program was denied. The official cause was determined to be that the singer had a criminal record related to petty theft, which did not meet the clemency criteria of the state of Florida (USA). This decision means that the prosecution process can continue, pushing Lynda Trang Dai into a more intense legal battle.
No leniency, facing the court
Previously, to avoid leaving a criminal record, the singer applied to participate in the PTD (Pre-Trial Diversion) program â a mechanism applied to first-time minor offenders, in order to create opportunities for violators to correct their mistakes. However, as defined in Section 8, Chapter 948 of the Florida State Code, this program is only available to people who do not have a criminal record.
With a history of petty theft in the past, Lynda Trang Dai's application was denied by the District Attorney's Office. After this decision, the Attorney General's Office proposed to the Court to arrange a pre-trial conference â a stage for judges, prosecutors and defense lawyers to exchange directions for handling the case. This officially ends the opportunity to get away with the crime without leaving a criminal record, and at the same time signals a high possibility that Lynda Trang Dai will have to go to court again to face charges.
The accusation of stealing Gucci headphones caused a shock
In early January 2025, Lynda Trang Dai was accused of stealing property. According to records from the Orlando Police Department, Florida (USA), the singer is accused of stealing a case of headphones worth about $330 at the Gucci store in The Mall at Millenia. The store employee said that the singer took the item displayed on the shelf, hid it in her bag without paying.
On January 5, Lynda Trang Dai returned to the store and was arrested by the police. During the interrogation, she testified that she only tried the accessory, then put it back on the counter because it did not fit the size of the headphones, and was negligent in throwing the item on the ground. However, in the minutes made by Officer Stephen Erickson, the police confirmed that the security video clearly recorded Lynda Trang Dai carrying the item out of the store.
After being arrested, the singer was released on bail by paying a $1,000 bail. While waiting for the case to be resolved, the female singer still appeared on social networks, posting pictures and videos of her performance in the US, showing unbelievable calmness.
