Lana Condor was born in 1997 in Can Tho, her birth name is Tran Dong Lan. She was adopted by an American family and moved to Chicago, Illinois.
"I'm 100% Asian, and I'm also 100% American. That's something I always try to make people understand," Lana told Who What Wear.
Confiding in Elle, Lana said that people often feel shy when mentioning that she is adopted, but the Vietnamese gir.l herself is very open about her origins.
"My parents often wear traditional Vietnamese clothes on heritage day at school. They also want me to try Vietnamese food to learn about my roots," the young actress said.
Talking about her Vietnamese birth mother, Lana shared: "I don't know anything about my birth mother. I think about my birth mother but I don't know who she is, where she is, whether she is alive or dead. Since I was little, I have always considered my adoptive mother as my mother and loved her with all my heart."
Lana hopes her appearance on screen will have a positive impact, making the public pay more attention to Asian artists working in Hollywood.
Since childhood, Lana's parents invested in her to study art at prestigious schools such as Joffrey Ballet High School, Alvin Ailey Performing Arts Theater, New York Film Academy, California School of Drama... Lana studied at Loyola Marymount University.
In 2016, Lana Condor made her acting debut in the blockbuster "X-Men: Apocalypse". She played the supporting role of Jubilee in the $250 million film.
