Following reports of pressure being exerted on Hong Phuong ahead of her mini-show "Thanks to Life, Thanks to People," the organizers were forced to strengthen security measures. Law enforcement agencies were called in to provide protection and ensure the safety of the artist and the audience.
The heightened security measures became the most noteworthy aspect of singer Hong Phuong's mini-show "Gratitude to Life and People," held on the evening of January 10th in Ho Chi Minh City. Even before the show began, it was classified as an event requiring special control, as organizers continuously noted numerous signs of instability related to security and order.
According to a representative from the production team, the decision to increase security was not for show but stemmed from genuine concerns. Leading up to the show, negative information appeared on social media, accompanied by warnings about potential disturbances and vandalism. To proactively prevent risks, the organizers worked with authorities to develop a security plan suitable for the scale of the mini-show while ensuring maximum safety for the artists and audience.
Security wasn't limited to the stage area; a large security presence was also deployed outside the venue. Control was multi-layered, from the outer gates and parking area to the auditorium entrance and backstage. Attendees had to undergo ticket and personal belongings checks and were guided to designated areas. A security guard revealed that it's rare for a private mini-show to require such stringent security measures as larger events or shows.
Behind the meticulous security measures lay immense psychological pressure on Hong Phuong. The singer admitted that she experienced many stressful days before the performance, having to prepare professionally while also worrying about the safety of herself, her family, colleagues, and the audience. The threats caused her constant insomnia, significantly impacting her mental state during rehearsals.
"These people even threatened to ruin my show. So, I'm very worried and concerned for myself, my family, and the artists and audience participating in the program. I've been nervous and sleepless for days. However, I'm also trying my best to practice so I can complete my memorable concert," Hong Phuong shared.
Despite facing immense psychological pressure, the singer stated that she never considered canceling the show. For Hong Phuong, keeping to the schedule is the minimum responsibility she has to the audience who bought tickets and the artists who agreed to participate. Notably, she covered all the costs of organizing the mini-show herself, without any sponsors. This means she has to bear all risks, both financial and security, herself.
Hong Phuong also spoke frankly about the difficulties she has faced recently. According to the singer, not only she but also the promoters and organizers who invited her to perform have been fiercely attacked. "They gave me one-star ratings, sent emails demanding a boycott of my family, and told me not to continue in the arts. Even when I performed abroad, they found ways to pressure me to the point where some events demanded a formal complaint against me," she recounted. These prolonged repercussions have almost brought Hong Phuong's work to a standstill.
Hong Phuong's mini-show is rumored to have low ticket sales and is causing controversy for including a performance that mocks Hong Loan.
JLO14:23:35 11/01/2026After the show ended, images appeared on social media suggesting that the concert was poorly attended and tickets sold poorly, with many empty seats in the auditorium. These images quickly became a topic of discussion. Some accounts commented that the show failed to attract viewers.
