Actress Hoa Thuy used to be a much-loved face through films like Criminal Police and Don't Be Afraid. Thanks to the outstanding acting, the audience can't seem to forget the character Thu Hien has become a classic.
Actress Hoa Thuy has been absent from the screen for a long time, partly engrossed in taking care of her family, partly because she is busy at Tuoi Tre Theater as well as doing business. By about 2016, she returned to television with an impressive role in "Crossing the old street". In the film, Hoa Thuy plays Lich, the youngest sister in the Tran family consisting of 4 siblings Ha - Thanh Thanh Lich. Calendar embodies the type of original Hanoi woman: pure, gentle, wholeheartedly taking care of her family.
On weekends, the stage of Vietnam Youth Theater lights up to serve the audience. According to the schedule, the play Green Chrysanthemum on the swamp has just started, but Hoa Thuy and the cast have been present since early afternoon. Although she only plays a supporting role, the dialogue is short, Hoa Thuy still focuses and is attentive to each word. The artist's two sons have a day off from school to follow their mother to the office, sometimes jokingly running around the auditorium.
Hoa Thuy was once known to the audience for her role as Thu Hien in Criminal Police (1998). The skinny "police girl" of 20 years ago is about to turn 40. In the film, the audience still remembers the image of the character Hien through dramatic confrontations with the suspects. The brave personality of the female soldier partly affects Hoa Thuy's real-life personality. She is not as good at martial arts as police officer Hien, but she is strong and fierce enough to overcome the waves of her life.
Nhat Minh and Bao Chau are Hoa Thuy's sons with her second husband. The two got married in 2010. He is a freelance businessman, 18 years older than Hoa Thuy. Due to many years of working abroad, when he returned home, he chose to live next to his mother in Quang Ninh. When the two children were young, Hoa Thuy's husband regularly visited his wife once every ten days, then once a month. Currently, business is busier, he no longer keeps regular visits as before, instead is taking advantage of phone calls.
For her, after the failure of the first marriage, having someone who is kind to love and accept her early and late in her career is something to cherish. Hoa Thuy used to have a seven-year marriage to an actress and share a child named Thien Nga. The cause of the breakup was partly due to the nature of the inter-provincial work that often took place, unable to provide for the family. On the other hand, she admits that she is immature, immature and impulsive when she gets married at the age of 18.
Absent a pillar, almost alone carrying all the big and small things in the house made her more decisive. However, that is also easy to cause pressure on Hoa Thuy. Besides rehearsals and performances at the Theater, the female artist recently established her own company with her brother. She complains that her plans are messed up because of the overlap. It is a balance between theatrical, movie, business and childcare schedules.
One day, the working range of the "female police officer" was dense. In the morning, she took her children to school, went to the theater to practice and then took care of the company's work. Whenever there is a show schedule, Hoa Thuy's mother and daughter take each other to eat out, then go home late at night. In order for her children to have time to complete their homework, Hoa Thuy accompanied her two children to study right in the classroom, after the two children finished school.
Having to be both a father and a mother, sometimes Hoa Thuy "gives up" to the naughty, difficult to say things of her two children. However, Nhat Minh and Bao Chau know how to make mothers happy with their smart, good imitations of children. Hoa Thuy said that she often plays jokes for her sister, even wearing a bunch of ripe bananas on her head to act. Talking and laughing, the "policewoman" took from her bag a yellow card with a blue house on the surface. She showed off last March 8, her two children pulled out colored paper to cut and paste, making cards for their mother. Inside contains the oldest son's well-written wishes in pencil. Sometimes there are spelling mistakes, but for Hoa Thuy, it is the motivation and spiritual support for her to confidently pursue her love of acting.
Acting brings joy but sometimes also affects her private life. In 2010, her hot scene in Bi, don't be afraid! caused a fever and was removed when it was released in theaters. Hoa Thuy shared: "The original script only had two people lying in a hotel and making noises outside. However, director Phan Dang Di saw that the outdoor scene was too beautiful, so he asked someone to film the emotional scene. I disagreed and cried a lot, but the director insisted, 'You have to help me with this scene', even if you don't shoot, the whole crew can't go home." A year later, when Hoa Thuy was about to give birth to her second child, her husband saw a hot scene on the film and he was angry for 10 days. Hoa Thuy explained that it was an art scene, not a sex movie. To resolve the conflict, the couple sat down together and he forbade her from participating in any movies later. Summer 2010, Bi, don't be afraid! won two awards of the week of critics at the Cannes International Film Festival (France). The success of the film helped her convince her husband to return to acting.
Her most famous role is Hien in Criminal Police. Hoa Thuy received the script when her daughter Swan was four months old. After 20 years, Hoa Thuy still does not think that the female police officer role will overwhelm all the roles she plays, even though it is a character who does not have much acting space. For her, it was the role of Sim's mother in Pao's Story that left an impression. The scene where Sim's mother looked at her child and left in a state of full milk every day still touched her when she remembered.
Enthusiastic about each role, but that has not yet satisfied Hoa Thuy. She worries about the state of the stage lack of vitality. In movies, the female artist wants to break through, incarnate into personality roles instead of weak and resigned characters. Because in real life, Hoa Thuy is more "man" than many other women, she wants to have a character with her own archetype. She talks a lot about her desire to renew herself, but Hoa Thuy is also somewhat embarrassed because she knows that at her age, it is now difficult to find a special role.
Seeing her mother sit and talk for a long time, the two children of Hoa Thuy's family were impatient and urged to be taken to eat. The street outside the gate of the Youth Theater is illuminated by high-pressure lights. The mother and daughter took each other across the street, taking advantage of the opportunity to eat a snack so that she could get on stage in time to immerse herself in the play Blue Chrysanthemum on the Swamp.
More than 20 years of artistic activities, Hoa Thuy has become familiar with the audience through many roles such as Sim's mother (Pao's story), policewoman Thu Hien (criminal police), youngest brother Lich (Crossing the old street). ... She originally came from a cheo actress of Hanoi Cheo Doan (now Hanoi Cheo Theatre). Having studied art since the age of 14, three years later, thanks to her outstanding beauty, she was invited by director Vu Chau to play the main role in the movie Duyen Karma. She moved back to work at the Youth Theater in the early 2000s.
